He is a seasoned professional who is truly knowledgable about architecture, building codes, and municipal and state regulations. He is a "permit expediter" who can anticipate pitfalls and get permits approved fast. His prices are more than reasonable for the amount of work. He shows up every time when he says he's going to. I can't say enough good things about how he's helped our Church.

I liked and respected him so much, I always invited him to come by and see the progress. Their integrity stood out to me. Every step of the job had misunderstandings, problems and unexpected situations and Garys ability to work with me through those was wonderful. We just took it with a sense of humor, looked at our options and moved forward. He was wonderfully creative and really incorporated my ideas, I didn't feel like he was possesive of the drawings. He would compliment me on my ideas and incorporate them - he was a great partner.

I found Gary a few months back after perusing through different reviews of architects and contractors in my area a few months back. Though I am still in the initial phases of drawing up the necessary plans for the city, I am absolutely happy with the way things are progressing along since I met Gary Maxwell & Associates. Last June I purchased a bank foreclosed property in a neighborhood that I grew up in. It's been a dream that my parents always told me couldn't happen because there is one thing to grow up in Huntington Beach, but a completely different story to "afford to live in Huntington Beach." This home was beautiful to look at, but when I finally moved in? Problems rose from all sorts of nightmares that the previous home owner did. I have worked with several "construction related persons" including architects, contractors, subcontractors, handymen, etc; all ranging from mediocre to adequate ... but so far working with Gary, he has been the best! My parents tell me this whole process is a great learning experience and working with different people is one of them. Gary was hired by me for the FULL rate services. In other words after dealing with contractors and subs that were "sketchy" at best or difficult to work with, I hired Gary for what I would call the full "hand holding from beginning to end" service. For the first time since I bought the house, I am SUPER excited for the upcoming events: shopping for fixtures, looking at tile and even getting bids. Though I am still in the beginning phase of it all? I am quite confident to say with Gary guiding me a long the way from start to finish ... this will BE a MUCH better experience than I have had in the past. He has brainstormed ideas with me, worked with the city to check existing permit issues from the past, double check code requirements, draw up SEVERAL different layouts all sticking with what I initially want in my bathroom, made sure that even with my aggressive family (my wants are still met), offer suggestions and ideas and so much more.

Great! We have a signed contract and are working through preliminary designs. Gary has put a lot of time into securing our job as we have called him to discuss the project and put it on hold three times. Gary has been 100% professional, enthusiastic, receptive to ideas, creative, patient, proactive, and dependable. I find it hard to believe there would have been a better partner for me on this project. His extensive experience in the field as well as with the city has made our project more efficient. There are 10 or more of his projects within a 5 mile radius of my home that reference qualities specific to my job. He has worked on my floor plan 5+ times. His knowledge of the building code and personality of the city has helped us determine what to petition and what to walk away from, which will save us time and money. I highly recommend Maxwell & Assoc.
