After 30 years of blistering 100° summers in Stanton, I finally decided to get AC installed. I decided to call Empire because of their positive reviews and Keith came out that same day! I didn’t know much about HVAC but Keith took the time to explain what I needed and how much it would cost. He was very knowledgeable and professional. I would highly recommend Empire! Ask for Keith!!!! Thank you Empire!

It is a wonderful system! They could not figure out what was required to do the job so half-way through they asked for more money. It is 6 weeks later now and they still haven't done part of the work. They said they need a special part.

There was water dripping from the attic, through the light fixtures. This was the second time this had happened in the same spot. Since we had a maintenance contract with Empire, we called them in a panic. They were very responsive, and sent out a plumber right away, even though we told them we were pretty sure it was an AC issue. The plumber looked at the problem and determined it was an AC issue. Empire sent out the AC tech early the next morning. He determined that the attic leak was due to a clogged pipe in the condensation drain (where it connects the sink drain), and replaced the drain line with a galvanized(!) elbow and pvc. He commented several times that it was a and quot;very difficultand quot; job. He was here for approximately 2 hours and charged us $435. He also recommended that we do the same repair on two other identical drains. While he was here, we asked about scheduling the maintenance under our contract for the rest of our units, and were able to set up an appointment for the maintenance and drain repairs.
After he left, we started to think that it seemed a little fishy. Why was it such a difficult job? Why did this problem happen twice, in the same place, while we had a maintenance contract? Why are we needing to track them down to schedule maintenance appointments, when we've already paid for the service? It happened that our plumber, from a different company, was here that same day on unofficial business. We asked him to take a look at the 'fix'.... he laughed when he saw the work and we told him it cost $435.
We have since cancelled our maintenance contract and future appointments. We are a small company, managed and run by women. It is the WORST feeling to know that a professional company, which we trusted to keep our Heating and AC units running, took advantage of our inexperience in HVAC. We have always been willing to pay a fair price for a job done well and properly, and avoid simply putting a 'band-aid' on a problem for a temporary fix. We will no longer use the services of Empire, and are in market for a new company for our maintenance contracts.

I had a bad experience with Empire Plumbing, Heating, Air Conditioning & Electricity. They charged me $587.00 just to replace a control switch. Less than a year later, I had to replace it again. I did it myself, and it worked out fine and I haven't had any problem with it since I replaced it. I expected it to last more than a year. I wanted the original kind installed, but he said he had a better brand, but it wasn't.

My water heater began started making loud banging noises on Sunday night ..... on Monday night we had no hot water .. I called my landlord and she said to take care of it and take it off the March rent. I found Empire on through Google and they advertised $999 water heater so I called around 9 PM. The guy that answered was super helpful but told me that 40 Gallon water heaters are $1199 installed. I still had the ad up on my iPad and noticed that it did say $1199 and 30 gallon ones were $999.00. I asked, and quot;how soon can I have it done?and quot; He said, and quot;First thing Tuesday morning between 8-10and quot; I needed to double check with my landlord and asked to call him back he took all my info and scheduled my install so I wouldn't lose the 8-10 appointment window and told me if my landlord declined the amount to call him back and he would cancel the appointment. Needless to say I got a call at 8:00 AM to tell me my plumber David was on his way and he arrived at 8:30 AM. He was awesome! He came to my door introduced himself and asked to take a look at the old water heater. Before he even stepped foot in my door he put on shoe covers, WOW! After looking he said it should'nt take me more that 2 hours. He immediately began draining the water heater. Went outside unloaded the new water heater and everything he needed. Removed the old one, and had the new one installed cleaned up and was done by 9:45 AM. He cleaned up and asked if it was OK to vacuum! Are you kidding me? I of course told him not to worry, I would take care of it. Was it worth the $1199.00? I think so! Fast, Clean and professional. My landlord came over yesterday to take a look at the new water heater and too was impressed. She liked that it was a Bradford and White water heater and not a Home Depot and quot;cheapyand quot; one. I told her that It came with one year free maintenance and they would come and flush it next year so it would last longer. Then she looked over the invoice and noticed it had a 10 year parts and labor warranty. She did not believe it and called the Empire and verified! They told her as long as and quot;we maintain it with them every year it would be covered for the 10 years parts and laborand quot;
It was a great experience from start to finish!

I can understand paying a lot for a service that requires esoteric knowledge rather than time or labor. But, not only did I find out later how easy this repair was to do myself, I paid him $587 and he still could not give me a repair that was more permanent

They are the most honest and hard working company I have ever used. They are absolutely terrific and their prices are reasonable. We would now use them for ANY service. They really know HVAC systems and how to diagnose the problem quickly. They are completely capable of fixing the system. They do no try to over sell. Lance Stevens was great to work with and he is outstanding.

He replaced the spout with standard-typical spout ($15 at Home Depot)!  He was done in less than an hour and wanted to charge me $329.00!  Shocked by that cost, he decided to knock down the cost to $275.00.  I feel cheated with such an easy, quick job. Will not call them for any plumbing ever again.

Not good, see above explanation.  I phoned the office of Empire and spoke to the owner who pretty much took the word of the technician (no on else actually went out to the house to look at it although I asked them to) and told me that this pipe needed to be replaced for $1,900.  Technician mentioned the pipe needed to be replaced the first day, but had cleared the line (supposedly) at the time.  Indicated it didn't need to be done right away, but should be done.  Apparently he was wrong, if this is the problem it apparently needs to be done now.

In the meantime the carpet needs cleaning, and I need to compare prices with another plumber who doesn't have a B rating on Angie's list.

I found this company through google. I was willing to use them because they had an internet special of $999.00 for the replacement and installation of a new water heater. They also showed a positive Angie's List rating on their website as well. I called the number listed and asked for the free inspection and the internet special if I replaced the water heater. I was told that they could do the inspection the next day and the appointment was scheduled. The plumber showed up within the timeframe indicated and was friendly and knowledgeable. He agreed that the water heater needed to be replaced but, unfortunately, quoted a price of 2185.00 (more than double the price shown on their internet). As I had been without hot water for 24 hours and had already taken time off from work, I agreed to the exorbitant price. I have to admit that the work was impeccable, quick and clean. They also replaced all necessary parts to meet code regulations. Just beware of the increased price!

Work was done quickly and neatly. It was not until plumber left that I noticed the handle had to be held down to get a complete flush. Decided not to recall plumber. By chance, had another plumbing problem a week later. That plumber (another company) noticed the problem on his own and corrected it in 30 seconds.

It was there less than 30 minutes. Probably took in 20 minutes to complete.
Response from Empire Plumbing Heating Cooling & Electrical
"SINCE GIVING US SUCH A LOW GRADE I FIND IT UNUSUAL THAT HE HAS USED US SINCE THIS TIME. THE WORK DETAILED ON THE INVOICE MUST HAVE TAKEN LONGER THAN 30 MINUTES. PLUGS WERE REMOVED AND REINSTALLED IN MULTIPLE PLACES. HAD HE NOTIFIED US OF THE APPARENT DISSATISFACTION WE COULD HAVE ACTUALLY LOOKED UP THE EXACT TIME WE THERE AND LEFT (THIS TRUCK HAS A TRACKING DEVICE ON IT) AND WE COULD HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM."
