The windows and installation looked very good at first but this was misleading to a homeowner like myself. I later discovered rain water was leaking into the interior walls around new exterior window moldings. I myself had to recaulk the window moldings to keep the rain water out. I recently had a contractor remove the exterior window moldings from around 4 windows. All windows had large gaps and cracks in the stucco where rain water could get into the walls Only the moldings and molding caulk(thin layer too) was keeping the windows watertight. Underneath, it was not even caulked. The molding hid the cracks and gaps of this poor installation. The moldings and windows did look nice and hid the problems underneath. I took photos of what was hidden underneath. The moldings were bent and fabricated aluminum nailed to cheap construction grade pine ledger boards. The aluminum sheets were fabricated just like rain gutters are made. The molding aluminum is then installed around the pine boards.
