Quick and easy. Contractor even did a little extra work - painting some pipes on my roof that were never painted/faded. Only issue was found that one of the turbines was/is a bit warped. not sure if/how this affects performance.

Rick is super efficient. We scheduled an 8 am estimate and literally by 8:02 am he knocked on my door with an estimate he had printed in his truck. I am assuming he showed up a little early and took a look around. The estimate was half the cost of the roofer I was going to use, but I asked Rick to quote me after a relative had him repair her roof and she was super happy with his work. Rick was the only roofer who told me that my tiles were no longer made but that he could move existing tiles to the front of the house and put the new, much darker ones in places toward the back where they could not be seen. If he had put the new ones in the front of the house, it would have looked very unsightly and "polka dotted" with dark tiles among light tiles. After the repair, the the roof looks neat, colored matched and beautiful He also agreed at my request to paint one small piece of flashing on the roof that my painter had missed, for free. Highly recommend!

Rick responded to my call and diagnosed the problem immediately from the pictures I sent him.  He assured me that it was not a huge problem (I don't know anything about roofs) and scheduled me in immediately.  His communication was clear and professional. He met by brother at the house with a tile in case we could not find any at the house and matched the color and style perfectly. He called before the appointment to confirm and was even early!  He finished the job promptly and charged us a very fair price.  Thanks for making my day Rick!

I'm sure there are lots of great roofing companies around, but Century Roofing is definitely one of them. This review is long and detailed, but the bottom line is we highly-recommend Century Roofing (License #674019), and would/will call him again for ANY roofing issues!
Rick Sternberg (owner) was recommended by a trusted neighbor who is a property manager. I got a quote from him for my mom's house about 18 months ago. He basically honored the quote, which is usually only good for 30 days, even though the price of lumber has gone up significantly since then, and the State of California added a 1% tax on all lumber. Since this roof needed to have plywood, and replacement wood around the edge of the whole house, there was a lot of lumber involved.
We gave him about 2 weeks notice, and he gave us a start date of Monday, July 1st. Rick and his crew showed up early Monday morning and began tearing off the two-layer existing roof. Rick uses his own crew and his own trucks for removal. Rick was on-site for almost all of the job, working with his crew and supervising. They did an outstanding job on the roof, and finished it midday on Friday (7/5/2013). They did an outstanding job cleaning up - doing the very best that they could. I even saw a guy sweeping the lawn with a magnetic and quot;broomand quot; to pick up any nails that may have landed in the lawns.

Last winter, we called Rick because we had a leak in our roof. We live in Torrance. Rick came out to Torrance from Huntington Beach, and got stuck in traffic on PCH too. He found the leak and told me all we needed was a few nails. He repaired the roof, and charged us just $20.!!!!! I gave him $60. and said and quot;here's your $20.and quot;. It probably cost him $20. just in fuel. He wasn't doing this to get the roof job - he did it because it didn't take him much time to repair our roof! I was thinking and quot;oh, no - we're on a budget and we are going to need a new roof!and quot; Rick also fixed my mother-in-laws roof (in Palos Verdes) for a very reasonable price - with reliability, professionalism and friendliness.

Very satisfied with the experience, I would highly recommend his services.

RICK WAS VERY RESPONSIVE. HE UNDERSTOOD THAT WE NEEDED TIME AND EXAMPLES IN ORDER TO MAKE THE PROPER CHOICE. ONCE WE DECIDED ON THE ROOF THAT WE WANTED, HIS INSTALLATION WAS PROMPT AND TROUBLE FREE.
