The owner of the company, TJ Callahan, came to our house with photos of his past work and discussed our project in-depth.  He explained all of the technical details (I'm an engineer and needed this) and went into the design possibilities.  After measuring the area to be covered and agreeing on general details, he gave us a quote, several catalogs from paver companies, locations for us to examine various paver supplier's products and, via email, several addresses of local clients so that we could see past results.  This input allowed us to make our selections of materials and design details so we requested that he start as soon as he could work us into his schedule - which tuned out to be the following week.
TJ and his crew showed up on time and and starred work as scheduled.  The foreman efficiently kept his crew of five (or more) workers going with frequent checks by TJ (who had several sites working.)  Trucks came and went both taking material out and bringing it in frequently.  (TJ had visited all of our neighbours to let them know about the trucks and dust in advance.)  Our soil was worse than anticipated so TJ made the decision to trench deeper than the required amount to ensure that there would be no future problems.  By the middle of the second day all of the digging was completed, a special cloth was installed, and the roadbed of gravel and sand was nearly complete.  The next day the sand was completed and pavers were installed and sealed.  The following day the work was completed and TJ spent several hours applying a final sealant coat and inspecting the work.
In spite of the almost frenetic pace of the work, the crew were on time in the morning and left our property clean each day with all of the equipment stowed neatly out of sight.  They were responsive to our questions and concerns and made modifications when we asked for them.   They certainly earned our respect as craftsmen at what they do.
The comments by our neighbours and friends have all started with "WOW."  What more can I say!!!

Aloha Pavers just completed over 750 sf, of pavers in my front yard which included; walkway, front patio area and replace the original concrete driveway. The process of deciding on a contractor started last July. We interviewed six contractors, contacted their references, viewed the properties they completed over the past year or two and found that only a couple had completed, what we considered, quality accurate paver placement and appropriate base compaction. Working with TJ, of Aloha Pavers was the most pleasant to deal with, informative (helping with the design and paver colors and choices) and straight forward of the majority of the contractors we interviewed. Most of the contractors wanted to cut corners on base preparation in order to provide a low quote; but, when asked to provide the necessary services they were not the low bidders and we lost confidence in their quote. We went with Aloha Pavers, scheduled the start date and the job was completed with excellent workmanship, in a shorter time span than originally quoted (had up to nine workers on site) and better than we had hoped the outcome would be.

Details: Job started at 7am on a Tuesday morning. Nine working and TJ showed up. TJ provided all of the site markings and gave directions to the crew. We discussed sprinkler locations, and areas that needed to tie together for effect and function. The crew worked through the day as a team and at the end of the day cleaned up. The following day the job was completed with some minor coordination with the team leader. TJ came at the completion and sealed the pavers and explained how to care for them.

A lot of research and time went in to choosing a company to go with for our Driveway remodel. Living in an area, and owning a property that has a lot of large adult pine trees (Roots), and major property slope (Drainage) creates many concerns with construction approach, and materials. We shopped around, and received estimates from other companies (Pavers & Concrete). Ultimately we liked TJ's vision and approach to our property. He asked all the right questions, and offered some great solutions to our project.
 It took much longer than expected to get HOA approval on our project. I had to keep contacting TJ to update him and Pray he could find a date soon. The instant we got approval (Monday), TJ scheduled us in and asked if we were ready to start 2 days later (Wednesday)!
TJ and his crew showed right on time Wednesday morning and went to town! These guys busted their butts with the demo and prep of our project. It took these guys 4 days to dig around roots, level the driveway, compact layers of gravel, install new drains, and finally beautiful pavers. Our house looks amazing, and we could not be happier. Quite honestly one of the best construction experiences I have ever had. If you are thinking of doing pavers, and want them done correctly, and professionally. Aloha Pavers is a must call. Thanks TJ and crew. We love our home even more now.

We used a very popular paving company on our front driveway and walkways several years ago, and although we rated them on Angie's List very highly when they were done, when it came time to do the same on the rear yard, we obtained 5 bids (all from Angie's List). We also included the company that we used previously. The bids ranged from 19,000 to 31,000 dollars.
Chad from Aloha met with my husband and spent a great deal of time with him, reviewing the drainage issues, grading, design, sealant and pricing. Chad was very agreeable, knowledgeable, low key and friendly. My husband really liked him from the start. We also saw a job Aloha completed a job in our neighborhood with very tricky slopes and drains. After an unusual rain downpour, we checked that property and everything was perfect, thus solidifying any concerns my husband had for using Aloha Pavers.
Chad and his crew showed up exactly when they said they would (7am), to start the demolition. At my husband's request, they delayed using the jack hammers until 8 am (a courtesy to the neighbors) and used sledge hammers first. The men worked tirelessly and steadily as a team from 7am until 5 pm, breaking up 1600 sq ft of concrete and dirt, hauling I away and replacing it with substrate for the next day. It was a bee hive of activity and all the men were courteous and worked well together.
The owner of Aloha, TJ, came by several times each day, and Chad only left the job site to grab lunch for his men or run for needed materials Any small concerns my husband had were handled quickly by Chad, because he was always there, monitoring the progress.
My husband is an extremely talented DIY'er but injury prevented him from doing a job this size. He was very much a perfectionist, and he could find NOTHING to pick apart on this job. The paver cutting on the curves and the details of the work were perfect on all fronts.
The entire job was completed in three days, which was quicker than expected. I wish we had used them originally. Better job and MUCH less expensive than the other companies.

TJ and his crew were punctual, professional, and accommodating. I now have a beautiful driveway and walkway. Additionally.... I have pavers in the backyard that were installed several years ago. TJ was able to successfully integrate new pavers to the design to enlarge the area, with a pretty close color match (as the paver manufacturer no longer makes the exact same color). They did a beautiful job in 2 1/2 days. TJ was competitively priced. I would definitely recommend their work.

They were wonderful. They were punctual, courteous, and professional. They did a wonderful job.

So, we had T.J. out to give us a quote for paving our back patio about a year ago. At that time, we also received quote for a couple of other companies as well. We ended up postponing the project, but knew from that time that we would hire T.J. when we were finally ready. Besides being very personable and professional, T.J. was very knowledgeable and brought a great portfolio with him. So, we called him up last week to have him come out and update his quote (we had decided to pave an additional area). He came out, walked us through the process, helped us pick out the pavers and pattern, and scheduled the project. It was great working with him because he has a great sense of the possibilities of a space and can make suggestions that draw on his experience, while taking into account your preferences.
Once they came out to do the patio and got started on the prep, he brought my attention to a concern he had about an existing half wall that the patio would join up to. It was cracked and he didn't know if the demo would increase the cracking since we couldn't tell if the slab was supporting the wall or if it was directly on the soil. He explained the concern and came up with a contingency plan (if it cracked/fell apart, we would tear it down and he would build a new one in its place at a very reasonable cost). He said that the goal would be to keep the existing wall if possible and only resort to Plan B if there was no other option.
It turned out that the wall was fine and the project proceeded smoothly. His team worked all day, and T.J. was here periodically to check on the progress and help out. I was really impressed by his crew--they were great. And the patio and walkway look wonderful. I can't think of anything T.J. or his crew could have done to make it a better experience or outcome. We love our new patio and happily recommend Aloha Pavers--if we ever need more paving, we will use them again.
