Very responsive to both the estimate and the work. While living estimate noted a detached roof shingle in a separate part of the roof and replaced it without cost. Estimate was to replace 4" vent flashing and reseal vent and pipe flashing and cleanup.

About two years ago I used Absolute on a significant roof repair. I have a valley with metal sheathing that was not replaced when the former owners roofed, so it was decrepit. I was given two options -- to replace or to repair. I chose the latter and the problem was solved. This time with the more recent heavy rains, I had additional leaks. The vent pipes needed resealing. Even though this was a small job for a roofing company, the responded to the work timely and in coordination with me and got the job done. It hasn't rained yet, but I don't expect further problems. Also, s tile on a separate part of the roof was blown free. When giving the estimate, he noticed it, and fixed it then and there for no charge, even though I had not even received his most recent bid.

I am completely dissatisfied and don't believe they made the repairs or made them correctly. I don't think they contacted me the way they were supposed to before they came out either time. The first time that they did come out to do the work they were on the roof when my daughter came home. They continued using the old tiles. When the rains came the past couple weeks, you could see that they had not done the work or done it properly because it came through the front of the building and buckled the walls on both sides. When I spoke with them about the issues, he was extremely argumentative and he did not listen to my side at all. He ended up telling me that he was going to refer me to collections and hung up in my face.
Response from Absolut Roofing, Inc.

"We did the work as originally proposed. after the first repair was completed they discovered more leaks on their very, very old tile roof and wanted us to repair those new leaks that was in new locations for the same price. We had recommended to do a total re-roof from the beginning and had informed them that any repair attempts would not be under any warranty since the whole roof should be re-roofed."

Dave was the estimator and his crew came on time to complete the work as agreed. The work was done fine but by the end of the job and also end of day, the crew did not clean up very well. I had roof tile pieces and debris all over around the house. It took me quite awhile to clean up. I'd mentioned this to Dave and he immediately asked if he can send the same crew back tomorrow to clean up, but I've already cleaned up. A few days later, I noticed a cap from one of the pipe from the roof was blown off and I don't think it has to do with the prior roof work. I'd asked Dave, if he was in ever in the neighborhood to stop by and put the cap back on. He didn't hesitate and did that. The experience would be a perfect and quot;Aand quot; if it was not for the cleaning up issue. I think this company does try to go out of their way to please the customer. I would use them again.

We interviewed and got bids from several roofing companies. We chose Absolut Roofing (Hogan Hammarstrom) because: 1. They were the most flexible as to what they would do. For example, they (as every roofing company) had recommendations as to which materials to use; however, when we mentioned that we might want to use a different material, Hogan honestly gave us his professional opinion of the benefits and drawbacks of each option. In the end, however, everything was completely our decision. 2. Of every roofer we spoke with, even the ones that were touted to be and quot;official expertsand quot; by the various roofing materials companies, Hogan seemed to be the most knowledgeable. 3. Absolut had the lowest bid, especially after we asked for a roofing material and extras not on the original bids.
We contracted with Absolut Roofing to do a complete re-roofing of the existing pitched/shake portions of our roof (our roof also has a flat portion, which did not require re-roofing). In addition to the re-roofing, we also asked Absolut to install new, R-30 insulation in our attic.
Absolut tore off the existing shake roof from our house and garage, and cleaned out the existing insulation from the attic. They checked for dry-rot and/or termite damaged wood, and replaced about 170 board feet of 1 X 8and quot; ship lap boards.
Absolute then took down the old, twisted, green barge rafter beam, and replaced it with a new, straight, properly dried barge rafter beam. This was not an easy task, as each beam weighs about 400 lbs.
In the process of both preparing to install the facia board, and preparing to lay the plywood, Absolut noticed that our roof structure was not level. They asked us permission to lift a portion of the roof in order to level it. This had not been part of the contract, but they did it without charging us extra.
Primer was then painted onto all the new, weather-exposed wood. Afterwards, Absolut cut back the existing 6 X 8and quot; beams, and installed new 2 X 10and quot; fascia boards in front, to give the house a more updated look.
Absolut then installed 1/2and quot; C.D.X. plywood over the top of the roof, and blew in new O-C insulation, to R-30 standards, into the attic. Once that was accomplished, they installed a new, A.S.T.M. 30#, single layer felt liner over the wood sheathing. Then new 26 GA 2 X 2and quot; baked enamel edge metal was placed around the perimeter of the house, and new 25 GA galvanized flashings were installed around all the existing pipes and vents on the roof.
Absolut then placed four new, low-profile attic ventilators near the top of the roof. The new flashings and vents were then sealed with mastic, and painted to match the new roof color. Finally, Absolut installed our new GAF, class-A, lifetime, Woodlawn composition roofing shingles, along with new, fiberglass S.B.S. modified ridge caps.
The job was estimated to take 5 to 7 business days. It took Absolut 5 days to finish the job. At the end of each workday, Absolut thoroughly cleaned up the job site. It was left so clean, that my a few of my neighbors even commented on it. The roof looks wonderful, and beautifully level and even. Hogan, foreman Salvador, and their crew did incredible work, were completely professional and courteous. They kept up up-to-date on everything, and let us know when there were concerns or problems (which are inevitable with any construction job) so we could help make the decisions as to how to proceed.
We would highly recommend them without hesitation! Thank you, Hogan! Our roof now looks great (and our neighbors think so too)!

Everything about the work was excellent. The guys who tore down the old rood were excellent, the guys who put the new plywood on were excellent and the guys who put on the new roof were excellent as well. I cannot say enough good things about them and this company. I was very pleased with how everything ended up. I would recommend this company to anyone!

Absolut Roofing, Inc. was very reasonably priced. The guy came to the house, he was very professional and very nice and didn't try to sell something, no pressure. He knew his business. They were here on time, completed before time and did more than I thought they were going to do. The salesperson's name was Hogan Hammarstrom, he was out everyday checking on his crew and his crew was very professional. They were absolutely outstanding. No leaks or issues and it's been about a year and a half and the roof still looks like it's brand new.

I cannot recommend Hogan and his crew more highly. They are efficient, on time, friendly, respectful, honest, safe and carried out excellent work. Also I believe Absolut Roofing was excellent value for money. Hogan is really knowledgeable too. I would never hesitate to recommend Absolut (without the 'e') Roofing.

They were very responsive. I dealt with Dave, the estimator, and he was great to work with. The work they did was great. I did have to call them to have them re-do the fascia where it was not flush with the eves. They were able to correct the work.

Holden came out and he was very nice and helpful. He spent a lot of time with me going over roofing samples as well as on the phone. He also returned my calls immediately. His pricing was good and fair. I would definitely recommend him. He seemed like a very honest man and has a lot of integrity.

Hogan was able to respond on very short notice to send in his team to shore up a leak in the old roof while we waited to be ready with the rest of the remodel work to be finished before the new roof work could start. The clean up was very good but inevitably it is a messy process.

Overall it went ok. Dave gave me an estimate and it was less that the competing one. He described some of what would happen and emailed me within two days. The work started a day late, but we did have some weird weather so no big deal there. In the estimate there was an additional option (clay bird stoppers) which when Dave came out to give the estimate we both thought wasn't necessary. During the job they did it anyway and I was able to get him to give me that option at cost in the end. The gutters were not quite as described, though very close. (Ridged gutters and downspouts, when I was told they would be round at our initial meeting.) My biggest complaint was a and quot;mistakeand quot; on the wood replacement. We were charged for way over what was done and I had to call Dave and have him come do an inspection. He agreed that the invoice was wrong and ended up taking off around $500.
Quality of the work looks good and Dave was always nice and professional. But it could have been a little smoother. I think we probably just were a smaller job and sort of slipped through the cracks a bit.

Price=Good but I had to point out multiple problems to get it lowered.
Quality=Looks good. We like the way our roof looks now. Wish the gutters were what we expected.
Responsiveness=Was good with email, which some people seem to not be.
Puntcuality= Late one day, but did call to let me know.
Professionalism=Just couldn't give an A after all these things added up.

I wanted to wait until I had the first rain before I submitted a report because the proof is always in the pudding! About a month ago we had a couple days of rain and, for the first time in years, my garage did not flood! Yeah Absolut Roofing, thank you!!Dave is the person I dealt with. He was not only informative, taking the time to explain things in great detail, he was also fun to work with. They showed up on time to perform the work, the crew worked hard and cleaned up well after themselves. Dave then came back at the end of the day to inspect their work before accepting payment. I would recommend Dave and his team anytime.

I was concerned about the condition of my roof and was curious about if i needed a re-roof and, if so, the cost to replace with asphalt shingles. Dave Leclerq came over to inspect the roof and provide an estimate. We discussed the roof condition, features that I should be watching, and options. I was happy to learn that my roof has a few seasons yet to go. The quote provided was reasonable had I opted/needed to go that way. In summary, I'm happy to have developed a relationship with a reputable roofer who gives good, detailed, specific quotes so you can go in with better confidence. Thanks Dave.

Hogan and his team (his PM on site is great) did a wonderful job. I replaced 2 flat roofs and 1 pitch roof. Out of all the options his prices was middle of the road, not the cheapest and definitely not the most expensive. The work was done quickly and professionally. I am extremely detail oriented and very picky about small details and I asked Hogan to pay close attention to that. After the work was done, I asked for a few more fascia boards to be replaced and he had no issues taking down the old ones and putting up new ones. Again, very happy with the work and his team even came out to tarp my roof while I was on vacation and it started to rain. Highly Recommended, thanks Hogan!

This went very well and would not hesitate to recommend Hogan's company to anyone. The grade I gave is an average. Hogan himself was excellent and took care of my concerns, I give him an A+. Hogan's project manager gets a B, he did the torch down areas of the roof and there were a few areas where he didn't put any metal flashing - but the inspector did pass the roof. The guy that did the stucco on the chimney area kept mixing water in the cement as it was drying, so the end result is powdery/flaky stucco (he gets a C). The crew that did the asphalt area above the garage gets a A. The price quote was not the lowest I got (out of 5)but was just a bit under average. So overall I would say an A-/B+. I would definitely recommend this company and would do business with again! UPDATE: Had a leak @ the chimney due to the rains about a month ago. Hogan sent guys twice to check it out, in the end they covered in plastic the metal part of the chimney. Rained yesterday and before, no leaks, which proved the leak is somewhere in the metal chimney cap, and not in the flashing around the chimney they did. This was very odd as the chimney never leaked before, but this troubleshooted the issue conclusively. Hogan was very diligent in working around the rain and troubleshooting a leak. People and companies like this are hard to find, A++ for Hogan and his guys. THANK YOU HOGAN!

Process took four days and was completed with alacrity. They ripped the old roof off one day, got the city inpsector's go ahead the next while delivering the next roofing materials and then installed on the third and fourth days. City Inspector came on the fifth day to certify. In the process they agreed to put down extra insulation my husband bought over one of the ceilings, and also added the drain and the ridge cap for a very fair price. Also, they honored a bid they gave me a year ago. Thanks so much for your firm's integrity and good work!
