The 4 Pals Plumbing technician came out to test two backflow devices on my property.  I was told within  5 minutes that both of the devices failed to pass.  I was surprised about one of them not passing because it had just been rebuilt last year Oct 2014,  and I am told by the city (and have experienced this)  that they last 4-5 years before needing repair. 

After I informed the technician that it was rebuilt 12 months ago, and showed him the paperwork on that, then he tried it again and then said it "passed the test after all." He didn't say he made a mistake the first time, or apologize for a mis-reading, or explain in any way why he read it as failing at first.   Of course, I lost confidence in this person and his company.  He took my paperwork and filed with the City one device passing and the other device as failing. He left my property after about 12 minutes.  Since I already paid him $100.00 for the visit ($50 for each device test), and wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt, I called his office manager and asked her to give me a quote on replacing the failed device.  She explicitly stated that she would get back to me on the quote.

Now, after over a week I have not heard from her or anyone at 4 Pals Plumbing.  Now I have lost all confidence in this company. I have many neighbors who have this service done as well and I can only suggest they take caution with this company.

I don't do ratings on services, but I feel compelled to post this one because I feel that either they were trying to deceive me into paying hundreds of more dollars for something not needed, or the technician is not competent as a certified tester.

The one good note is that the scheduled appointment was right on time.

These 4 pals are great for main line drain cleaning.  they can't clean your drain out, then nobody can.  No one else could clean our drains because of tree roots.  They stayed two hours trying and  used double blades and got through. Highly recommended.

I used them years ago a number of times and they were very good. I would still recommend them today.

They did a great job. They're just very professional, neat and clean. They're also careful not to do any damage in the surrounding area and they did a great job last time. That's why I called them back. Their prices are fair and they are reliable.

I thought their pricing was reasonable.

We had 4Pals diagnose and repair a leaking drain pipe inside our condo. They also worked for the HOA and successfully located and repaired a clogging sewer lateral that was backing up into our condo. Their installation crew showed up on time, was experienced, asked questions as needed and kept the work space clean. The company representatives were very knowledgeable and were able to answer all of our questions and guide us through all phases of decision making. We highly recommend this friendly and well run business and will use them again.

I had purchased a new toilet and wanted it installed and I needed the valve to my refrigerator replaced.The plumber showed up at the scheduled time ready to work. As it turns out, I had purchased the wrong toilet and it would not fit onto my existing drain. I had purchased a 12" rough in and needed a 10" rough in. The plumber knew this immediately and did not even open the box and I was able to return the toilet with out any problems. Instead of doing the work originally planned, he replaced the old toilets internal plumbing and it works great. He also replaced the refrigerator valve as planned and replaced another toilets internal plumbing. After all this he noticed our drain was a little slow so he cleaned out our drain line too. All this for $200.00. I will use these plumbers again and recommend you do too.

The unexpected pipe was the water drain from the air conditioner. However this unit doesn't have an air conditioner. So my assumption is the pipe was put in place in case an air conditioner is installed in the future. The faucet replacement went smoothly.

Staff who handled the call was courteous and arranged a technician call back in timely manner. Technician called back and discussed the situation with me, and advised me that it could wait until morning which would save overtime charges. Crew arrived on time the next day and made repairs. Work site was clean and orderly when job was finished. Since I could not be here during repair, company sent bill to me at a later date.

1) The city informs me it's time for the annual back flow inspection. 2) I faxed the document to 4 Pals. 3) 4 Pals sends notification that the job was complete and the city was properly notified. 4) I send them a check. Done!

They were here within 20 minutes. They are clean and do a beautiful job. They are quick, in and out. They are fantastic. I have used them 4 times and have recommended them to others.

Every year the city requires the backflow device on my building be tested and certified. I've been using 4 Pals Plumbing for this task without any problems for the last 5-8 years. Generally I fax the paperwork to them, then a few weeks later the report is faxed to the city and me and a bill eventually shows up. No hassle, nothing to think about, it just gets done. This year was an exception, three times I called to verify the work was done, each time I was told it was and a report would be faxed to me. A week after the city imposed deadline I called the city and they told me the report wasn't submitted. After calling 4 Pals again, I received a faxed copy and the next day was able to confirm the city received their copy. Usually 4 Pals provides excellent service, this year was an exception. We'll see how next year goes.

We had a natural gas leak in an underground line from our house to our BBQ bar in the back yard. 4 Pals came out and gave a free estimate (most others plumbers wanted a $50 to $100 "estimate charge"). They gave us an estimate and we set up an appointment for them to do the work. They were on time the appointment day and were ready to get the work done. I however was not and had to remove a large section of my paver's while they worked from the other end. They accomplished the work in the time they said they would need. Did an excellent job and did not leave a mess. They let me know they were finished and said they would bill me for the work.

WHEN I MADE THE CALL I TOLD THEM IT WAS A WATER DAMAGE EMERGENCY AND THE PHONE OPERATOR WAS GREAT. SHE HAD SOMEONE TO OUR HOUSE WITHIN 20 MINUTES. THEY WERE CLEAN, PROFESSIONAL AND HELPED CLEAN UP THE MESS!

THEY WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND SEEMED TO BE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. THE AMOUNT OF TIME THAT THEY SPENT ON FINDING THE LEAK WAS GOOD. THEY HAD STORIES TO TELL.
