AC Plus Heating and Air Conditioning Repair

I contacted AC Plus after another air conditioner repairman said the compressor on my 28 year-old central air conditioner was shot. Since it was so old, I could not just replace the compressor: I had to replace the entire heating/cooling unit. Since I was facing a very hefty price tag, I thought I should get several estimates.

The number two guy went with what I said the first guy told me and gave me an estimate.

Then Matt, from AC Plus, came to give me an estimate. He asked if I minded if he took a look at the unit. We powered it up. He said he thought the compressor was trying to come on. He then asked if the first guy looked at the rest of the unit. I didn't know so Matt opened up the wiring part of the unit and noticed something not right. He tested then replaced a small part, powered up the air conditioner, and WOW! Boy, did my air conditioner put some cold air into the house! In just a few minutes and a couple hundred dollars, he fixed my problem and saved me several thousands of dollars!

I'll get a bit more use out of the air conditioner but when I do need a new one, I'm calling Matt back!

We’re very pleased with the quality of their work. It was very nice and high quality. There is still an issue that they’re dealing with relating to meeting the city code on the condensate exhaust line. I’m sure we’ll resolve that. That is the only thing hanging on right now. It was excellent. They have a very good quality of people. We were very happy with the price. They were absolutely professional.

This was the only company who responded even though I made multiple calls when my air conditioner started freezing up.  The technician seemed like a nice guy.  He checked over everything and then told me that I needed new lines run up the side of my house because there was a leak in the old lines from the air conditioner being moved.  He talked to his office and scheduled the installation on the following Friday.  Friday came around and I had a family member stay at my house while I worked.  Nobody showed and nobody called.  I ended up calling the office and the secretary was very apologetic.  Then she transferred me to some guy who made some excuses and then asked if I would like to reschedule.  I rescheduled for the following Monday at 12:30 p.m.  They finally showed up at 2:30 p.m. with no ladders or tools, explaining that they would have to do the work the next day because it was too late.  I called up the office and told them that I would not be needing there services any longer.

I paid $850 for them to come out and fix my heating system. Two weeks later it stopped working and he came out and he changed the thermostat, he said there was a loose wire in it. Another two weeks later it stopped working again, and he told me he really needed another part that he said would be another $350-400 more. He said I should just buy a new one from them and they would try to finance it so it wouldn't be such a burden to me. I finally decided it was a scam and sent him away.
