Initial discussions with Jeff entailed removal of grass, replacement of wrought iron with stucco fencing, addition of pavers, large ceramic pots, updated (possibly drip) irrigation system and drought tolerant plantings. A list was given to Jeff of drought tolerant flowering perennials; none of which were used in final design. When I requested a design plan, Jeff was hesitate to discuss his ideas. A contract was forthcoming. When comparing Contract (C) to Actual Work (AW) completed, there was a difference. - (C) drip lines stated; (AW) no drip lines installed (sprinklers outside stucco fencing water the sidewalk and street). - (C) 12x12x34 stucco columns; (AW) 16x16x34 stucco columns - this created a price difference in contract (I was not advised of this cost difference until later and this action effected the number of ceramic pots I received). - (C) 3 payments stated; (AW) total of 10 checks were issued (Jeff had habit of dropping by and asking for more money, without prior notice) We discussed pots on 3 occasions and I was advised that he had ordered the pots after I gave him a check; a month later he called from the ceramic dealer requesting a change in pot design as the pots I wanted were unavailable. I contacted Jeff about a month after completion of this project to express my concern about the grass and weeds that were in abundance in my new landscaping. He was not receptive to my issues. The Texas switch grass that he planted was creating a mess in the yard and the seeds were causing additional grass to appear; I have pulled out the switch grass and I am now planting drought tolerant flowering perennials. If working with Jeff, make notes of each and every conversation and bring those issues to his attention before he proceeds with his own plans. This was my mistake.
