Finishing Touch

Finishing Touch talks a good game, but I would not trust this company to do anything but finished carpentry. I hired Finishing Touch as a general contractor. The roofer, stucco and plumber guys were pretty good (all relatively small jobs), but everyone else was subpar. The electrician left the house a fire hazard. The drywall/ paint subcontractor left drywall nail pops in the ceiling and had to return to repaint certain areas. The paint in the bathroom peeled because it was not properly prepped, and the lip under the shower was framed/ tiled so it points away from the shower. As a result, every time you open the shower door, water runs on to the floor. In addition, the laminate floor downstairs had to be completely taken up and redone, because they did not consider moisture problems and the floor started buckling. Finishing Touch also likes to make changes and subsequently charge you for work that you did not agree to. The company abruptly quit over a $350 dispute involving a tiling project that ran more than twice as much as the company?s original estimate largely due to their oversight in considering the consequences of switching the material to tile when they made their original estimate. I had to finish the last part of the project myself, which is just as well as the company really didn?t understand the thermal expansion and water drainage issues unique to exterior tiling. The owner of Finishing Touch, Brad Erwood, is also difficult to deal with, defensive, whines, bad mouths clients and does not return phone calls. The only thing they really do pretty well is finished carpentry.
