I got a new battery for my Volvo. There was a line and only one person working the front office  so even though there were only a few people, it took forever. They said it would be an hour so I sent to the outlet store (right next door) and did some shopping. After an hour I came to check, not ready yet so I sit in the waiting room and watch TV for a half hour, then finally my car was ready. I could not start it, and they guy that worked on my car had left so another guy had to kook at it, another half hour, finally it was done and working. Was a huge time sucking experience but the price was good for a great battery. The guys that work there are very pleasant. The service date is approximate, was a while ago.

Their warranty contract has changed, and not for the better. When you purchase a contract, it's a little bit high. You have to keep up with the maintenance on the appliance you purchase. They're not honoring those parts of the contract they said they're going to.

The microwave would not run.  The repairman found one of the door latches was broken off, thus the contact switch was not engaging.  He ordered a new door ( we found out by research that the latch is a part that can be ordered separately for about $2.00, whereas the door was nearly $200.00).  The door was to be sent directly to us and a new appointment was rescheduled.  When the new door was delivered it was determined that the wrong door was sent.  After many hours on the phone trying to get a new door delivered in time for the new appointment I was finally told that a repairman would have to determine a new door was needed.  This was done at the next appointment and a third door was ordered.  When that door arrived, it was also broken  - worse than the original door was.  When the repairman arrived for the third call, he was able to take the latch from the wrong door (the style was what was wrong) and insert it into the right door, so now, at least, the microwave is working.

The wall oven is another story.  When we installed it we could not get it to preheat.  It took over thirty minutes to rise to 300 degrees.  (We ended up putting a tension curtain rod between the door and the kitchen cabinetry to save our Christmas dinner).  We determined that the door was not shutting completely.  We then noticed that there was repair attempts made to the area around the hinges.  The second repairman confirmed this fact and said we should replace the hinges, for a cost of nearly $500.00.  He was charging around $136 per hinge, plus labor.  I found the hinges from the manufacturer at only $58 per hinge, and a UTube video showing how to remove six screws to affect the repair that would cost over $200 labor.

The third repairman was of the opinion that the oven could not be repaired, and to go back to Sears and talk to the sale man whom sold us the oven.  After many phone calls and being put on hold, someone called from Sears and told us that they do not carry this brand of oven any more and I should call the manufacturer.  I did, and the manufacturer is sending its repairman to inspect the oven.  We will see then if our over $1,000.00 (plus non repair $$) was paid for defective goods sold as in working order by Sears.
