RESTORATION MANAGEMENT COMPANY

Everything went well until after they completed the work. As far as I can tell some inexperienced young men arrived with multiple 5-gallon drums of chemicals. They sealed the room, covered walls with plastic, and started the removal process. The material was removed fairly well and the asbestos air sampling test went well. No MSDS sheets were offered for the chemicals used, and after the work was performed strong citrus-based solvent odors persisted in the room for almost a month. I left all windows in the room open and used fans to circulate in fresh air. I had to close off the room because of the odor and could even smell strong odors when walking around outside of the house. Furthermore some chemicals were splattered on the ceiling which had recently been painted. I tried to scrub the odor off of the floor to no avail. Requested that a representative return to the site. A gentleman did visit and brought samples on a rag of the two chemicals he claimed that were used. Neither of these had a strong odor, and I suspect that there was another chemical used to remove the mastic that was not identified. I was given a credit for the ceiling to be repainted. If it was not for the fact that later I had to demolish the slab floor for other reasons I believe the odor would have persisted for a long time.

Initially, we were unhappy with  the business practices of this company, and their relationship with the
property management of our homeowners association.  There was a flood in
our condo. The homeowners association undertook repairs and we paid the
association's insurance deductible ourselves.  Anthony of Restoration
Management insisted that we pay Restoration's bill, even though the bill should
have been covered by the insurance. Also, our request for
a breakdown of the work done and charges was ignored by Restoration Management.
 Restoration's bill should have been covered by the association's
insurance, but both the association and Restoration insisted that we pay both
the insurance deductible and Restoration's bill.  Our name was on the work
order, so we paid Restoration's bill. In the end, Restoration Management  let us down when they ignored our
subpoena and refused to help us in court in our efforts to recoup our costs and damages.
 

They are water, smoke, and environmental specialists. They came via my insurance agent. They were so fast and efficient; I was stunned. They come in when there is damage. In such a case, I wanted people immediately and they were there. I would recommend them to others.

They got all the smoke out of the house. The insurance company took care of the charges and it was like $20000. We had used their services in the past and we liked them. So we used them again. They were very good.

The price was reasonable and they were able to perform the work quickly, but the quality of the work done was not very good. They did remove the mastic, but they left a lot of cleaning to be done (splatter on walls, staples in walls, and a bent screen in one of the windows where a vent had been placed).

It was great that over insurance would cover the cost of this. We got home at four that afternoon, called our insurance company, and by five, five men were at our house. They work all into the night cleaning up the water and such.

THEY DID A FINE JOB. THEY CAME OUT VERY PROMPTLY, BUT WE HAD A HARD TIME GETTING THEM TO SCHEDULE A FOLLOW UP VISIT.
