MODERN DRAPERY INC

When I arrived at the house following the installation, I was met with draperies that had horizontal stripes that made all the rooms look like circus tents!!! Additionally, wands had been placed in the middle of each window's sheers! I called the owner of the company and reminded him of our previous telephone consultation when he had called and asked about the specific design. He denied any memory of the telephone conversation, and then proceeded to tell me that the draperies could only be made "the way the fabric came off the bolt". I wondered why no one had ever bothered to call me and deliver this information to me, so that I might have re-selected a fabric that came off the bolt appropriately for a vertical treatment!!! Instead, they just went ahead and made them up 90 degrees from the way I wanted the draperies. They also stuck these ugly wands in the middle of the windows, quite the opposite of what I had requested. I had already paid them $16,638.53 for draperies for five (5) windows, but in spite of the fact that they had done the job inaccurately, they denied having done anything wrong, refused to correct the panels, and insisted that I pay the last installment of $7,227.26 or they would take me to court! I sent them a check because my husband & I don't really like to resort to litigation, but these people have been so unreasonable, unethical, rude, and obnoxious that I am extremely tempted to go to small claims court to, at least, be reimbursed the amount of $7,500.00 (maximum amount that one can recover in the county in which their business is situated). It's been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences of my life. If you're looking for window treatments that meet your expectation, then DEFINITELY don't contract with these people!!! I would have respected them if they had acknowledged their error and forgone the last installment, but NOOOOOOO, they want their money regardless of the horrible job they've done.
