A great choice for us. We had been shopping around for cgranite and were at a loss. The company that was recommeded to us by our cabinet people left us with a bad impression. I happen to work down the street from the Granited encounter and saw their sign out front. We decided to stop in. We were gretted by the owner Thomas who is a charming Irishman with that wonderful Irish accent. He shwed us around his shop and we looked at the slabs he had. Based on our drawings he gave us a quote for the work. He gave us the name of one of the largest stone warhouses in the country that was in our area and had us go there to look at more slabs. We did find one there and the purchase was done thru him. They came out when they sadi they would to do the measurements and we were able to make any adjustments that might be needed. Sinces we were waiting for the cabinets we had time to pick what kind of edge we wanted and he was kind enough to fabricate samples for us to check out. The only real problem we ran into is that when they put the templates up on our slab we found out that it wasnt big enough even though the square footage was enough. This was due to the way they set up for the seam joint whch by the way are wondewrful. One can hardly see them. The problem was quickly resolved. He had some slabs of the same granite in a slightly lighter tone and happened to find a half slab that was needed. This way we only had to buy a half slab instead of a whole slab. Everything was on schedule except for the delay that we caused. We wernt sure of a measurment and had them come back out and check it again but it was minor and was well worth the time lost. They did a great job installing the countertops and a backsplash for the stove. His crew was neat and professional. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Tom kept the granite slabs until our kitchen cabinets were ready for the counter tops. When we picked out the granite slab we liked, we only looked at the piece in front and noted there were six more behind it. We only needed two at the time and made a deposit. When they were ready for fabrication, we noticed some cracks, (although we were told by many, including the fabricator that small cracks are normal and do not affect the strength or durability of the slab). We contacted Tom and he said it was no problem, we could pick another from the group. Tom was again very easy to deal with. Another slab was selected and we are pleased with the product. A good clean showroom with a great variety of good looking granite slabs.
