Sent email to Dennis over at Tru-Value Hardware on Foothill Blvd in Hayward. He responded the following day and agreed to come out the following Monday to give me a quote. Dennis arrived the following Monday (March 18) on time. Took some measurements. Brought some samples of the color and what the awning would look like. He explained the process in detail. He agreed to have a quote to me the following day (Tuesday). He called the following day. He did not have the quote ready yet. One of the 3 suppliers he quotes had not returned some information yet, but he wanted to let me know he had not forgotten and that he would get back to me as soon as his vendor got back to him. I really liked that. Made me feel like he wanted my business. Dennis called again Wednesday. He had his quote. A little less than $4600 to demo the old awning, haul it away and install the new one. I accepted and agreed to me him the following day (Thursday) to go see the warehouse where the materials ship into. There, they had a full awning on display so I could get a better look at it. I liked the quality. I liked the price. Paid Dennis half then and the other half on install. That was March 21. All materials were in 2 weeks later on April 4. Unfortunately we were out of town on spring break or we could have had it installed the first weekend in April. We made arrangements to have it installed the following weekend April 13 and 14. To speed up the process I actually took down the old patio awning. I didn't have to, but I had some free time and figured it would make the install go faster. The install was done in 1.5 days instead of 2 days. Finished up half way through Sunday April 14. Looks great. No rain yet, so haven't tested it for leaks, but the awning looks really nice. The install was completed very easily, on time and the installers cleaned up everything before the left. We now have a much larger awning and much nicer than the old 70's style one that was back there. Dennis called the following day to make sure the install went ok and there were no issues. Very professional. Nothing but good things to say.
