Ian (who works with his son) was extremely responsive and came exactly when he said he'd arrive and texted me prior to his arrival to let me know he was on his way. They were very efficient, professional and mindful about giving me the most value for their services. Both outlets were replaced quickly (roughly an hour). We've put off having electrical needs so we're pleased to have found someone who is fair, dependable and straightforward about cost. We have some exterior lights that we need to replace so we'll be hiring them in the near future for sure.

Ian was easy to contact and very responsive. He called and texted promptly to answer any questions we had and to help set up scheduling. He also offered DIY suggestions for determining if the breaker had failed or just needed to be reset (the breaker had failed, but it was very nice of him to try to spare us the service call!). He took time to come to our home after-hours and only charged us for a regular service call. He fixed our problem promptly and we were pleased with his professionalism, the cost of the service visit, and the ease with which he set up an appointment for us. We would definitely recommend him.

I quickly started making phone calls to some local electricians, ended up talking to Ian at South Bay Electric who solved the problem over the phone in two minutes! I will definitely be using these guys in the future when something comes up.

I called Ian to get a quote on an electrical panel upgrade for my house. He explained that he didn't service my city, but he still spoke with me for 15 minutes, asking me questions about my panel, what I needed done, and giving me recommendations on things to look out for when getting a quote. Making sure the power company had come out to check my panel location and upgrade requirements, checking with the city to see what they required on certain items, what types of panel options I might consider, and pointing out some of the common complications that could come up during the upgrade. He was very friendly, sharing, and knowledgeable, and helpful. I will be recommending him to a family member who lives in his service area.

They took care to position the chandelier just w here I wanted. The bathroom fixture was replaced and they made sure the wiring was correct and disconnected old connections for me.

I gave them a call after 5:30 when many electricians are closed. I described the problem with my circuit breaker. He had me take a picture and send it to him. He walked me through fixing the problem, which took 5 minutes, no charge. Saved me a ton of money that other electricians would have charged me. What a great guy!

Extremely well. They informed me of when they were arriving. Were professional and got all the work done for a little bit less that they had quoted and a lot less than a competitor had quoted (about 30% less). The work done has performed with no problem since installation.

The service was excellent! I'm so glad to have found Ian. He is a true professional and a really nice guy. We were originally going to upgrade our service panel. Ian helped us contact SC Edison with the meter spot. Later, after knowing the reason we were upgrading, he suggested keeping the old panel and just adding a couple more circuit breakers. It just never occurred to us because everyone else was saying about upgrading the panel without calculating the actual load. The new breakers are added and we saved thousands of dollars.

Awesome!!! I wish every person that I hired to do a job at my house was like Ian. SoCal Edison came out to check a problem I reported with my electrical service - blinking lights in the house - and discovered that there was a mostly fried breaker in my electrical panel. I found Ian on Angie's List and gave him a call. It turned out that he was in the area, so after looking at a few pics of my panel that he asked me to text to him, he picked up a replacement set of main breakers, got to my house, replaced the breaker, and was finished: all in about 45 minutes! He was extremely personable, and explained clearly what was the problem and what he was going to do to fix it. When I have electrical problems again, I will be calling Ian.

Ian is a true professional.  He quickly diagnosed why our landscape lighting wouldn't work.  It was due to a faulty GFI outlet, which Ian quickly replaced (he had one on his truck).  Ian also installed a new entryway light fixture.  He took the time to make sure it was placed as we wanted, and had no problem adjusting it until it was just right.  He works efficiently, arrives on time, responds to inquiries quickly, and is honest.  This is the second time we have used him, and we'll definitely use him again.  I would highly recommend him.

I called twice to have some work that I really need to have done in my mother-in-law's home. Both times the phone was picked up, but no one was responding, and I could clearly hear people in the background. Turns out, the Bluetooth in his car went AWOL on him lol I've owned a few of those things and it would do the same to me too. 

The service call was excellent. Ian called to confirm the time he would arrive for the call and arrived ON TIME. He was very friendly, down to earth, and knew his stuff. He quickly came in, assessed the issue and was able to salvage the wires, which made my day! I was so worried a re-wire was going to be needed. He was in and out in less than an hour. I trusted everything he told me and I will definitely call him for any other electrical jobs I have. I will recommend him to my friends and family.

Ian at South Bay Electric is a class act!  I was hesitant about hanging my own ceiling fans, so Ian walked me through the process and even followed up with me after the fact!  What a great guy!  And, he saved me good money!  He proves that not everybody is just trying to hustle as much money as possible.  Going to use Ian for the jobs that I can't do myself.  THANKS IAN!!!!

Ian was great. He was able to come out with 2 days of my call and was able to give me an accurate estimate on the phone based on my description of the work.  He immediately recognized on the phone the problem was that my handyman had bought 3 way switches when 4 way switches were needed.  He went to the store and bought the correct switches before coming to the house and performed the work fast and efficiently once he was there.  I would definitely recommend him.
