I did a lot of research on roofing materials and interviewed three local roofing contractors. Norm Armstrong (High Point Roofing) was by far the most approachable, prompt, and knowledgable of the three. Other contractors took days, even weeks, to get back to me concerning options and questions I had; Norm always got back to me the same day or by morning of the next day. He took the time to go over various options and to locate examples of different products that would work on my home. He even obtained samples of a product that isn't common out here on the coast and I ended up going that route. I really appreciated the time he took to help me understand the characteristics of different products and the way they would look on my house. 
Norm's bid was in between the other two I received, but his proposed work was more specific and elaborated in better detail exactly what work would be performed. When start day came, his crew was on time and efficient. They worked fast and hard and were careful with the house and yard. One of the reasons I selected Norm was because I was having the whole house painted at about the same time as I was getting the roof; the other contractors seemed to view the painting contractor as an adversary whose work should be conducted after the roof went on. Norm was quite proactive in contacting the painter and arranging ways they could work together to make their work efficient and not interfere with each other.
Norm scheduled 10 days for the work to be done; it was done in nine. With the new decking and underlayment and new shingles, the house is 500% more quiet and sound, and although we haven't had much rain (a few pretty wet ones is all), we've had some doozy wind storms and the house feels tight as a drum. No more shingles flying off into the street; no more whistling and wheezing. With his help in coordinating the roofing product and colors with the painting project, our house now looks absolutely great.
I would heartily recommend Norm Armstrong for your roofing needs. He's a real pro.

It went great. He was on time and did everything that he said he was going to do on the dates he said he would do them. He had to coordinate with the gutter guy because I also had new gutters installed. Everything turned out perfect. He knew exactly what to do. He has been in the area for 50 years and he is well aware of the houses in this area. His price sounded good but I'm not sure. He was very responsive. I would use him again.

He came out to do an estimate but then never called me back. He was probably busy but I want someone who wants to do the work so I went with someone else. He was good initially when he came out but I called him back a couple of times and never answered. He showed up right on time.

Everything went well, however Norm picked a product that was later recalled as being faulty. There was a class action law suit which however informed me about so I could not get into the law suit. I feel he should have been more pro-active with this as I am now the owner of a faulty roof with no recourse.

eight other people have not been able to locate the problem. He found it in 15 minutes and repaired it in 2 hours. No muss, no fuss and PERFECT. I am thrilled and I would recommend this person to anyone who needs roofing work, of any type.

They did an excellent job of removing the old roof and protecting the existing landscape. I was impressed with the real effort that they took to protect the landscaping. They removed all of the old materials and took the time to clean up all of the debris when they were finished with the work. They did excellent quality work. I will certainly use them again in the future.

It’s a local company. I found them through word of mouth and also by looking at their good work. They were fast, clean and were great. The price that I paid them included the price for roofing and even for gutters. It was a very cheap price. The owner had to let go a lot of his work force as the business was coming down. They came for an estimate first. I then went ahead and picked up the wood shingles the next day. Later on, they made an appointment within 1 week to come and do the work. It took them 2 days to get the work done. My whole roof was stripped off and they put in new plywood. Then they papered it and put the new shingles on. They also did the gutters within those two days. The quality of their service was excellent. I was very happy and pleased with their service. Additionally they coordinated with another fellow who put in new skylight tubes and that work was good too. Everybody knew everybody else and it worked out for me. I will hire them again in the future, if needed.
