Samson Plumbing is a small single owner / operator business specializing in service and repair work and custom new and remodel projects. I provide personal attention to detail and know my customers on a first name basis. I have been plumbing for more that 30 years and am a 3rd generation plumbing contractor, so I know this business and provide prompt service and creative solutions to you plumbing problems. Mr. Samson did not fix the leak. He never responds to phone calls or messages I have left for him. Immediately after “fixing” the leak, he begged me to give him a 5 star review and I did, but then the shower started leaking the next day and it’s gone downhill since then. Totally unprofessional and unreliable.

Great! Clark is always on time. His work is neat, fast and I wouldn't think of hiring anyone else! I have had several appliances installed along with new gas lines, hot water tank, two new toilets, a tub and shower, cleaned various pipe blockages and has been very trustworthy. I trust Clark Samson so much that he has access to my hidden key!

One of our 27-year old shower valves was malfunctioning and I called Zaragoza Plumbing, Baswell Plumbing in Novato and Gotelli Plumbing to fix the PricePfister brand valve. Zaragoza Plumbing proposed to cut the drywall behind the shower and replace the valve. Baswell plumbing was not familiar with the valve and was not able to find a replacement cartridge and proposed to cut the drywall and replace the valve. Baswell was not able to find a replacement cartridge and attempted to charge me for the time to (not being able to) find a replacement cartridge. Gotelli proposed to change the valve for $1,486 not including the cost of the new valve and trim that I had purchased. I called Clark Samson who I had used earlier to replace a toilet. Clark scheduled an appointment for the same day and proposed to find and replace the malfunctioning cartridge. Clark took a photo of the existing cartridge and found a replacement at his supplier. Clark returned the next day (Saturday) with the replacement PricePfister cartridge and made the modifications to the existing trim that were necessary to install the cartridge. (No drywall was cut or damaged.) The cost of the new cartridge was $62.00. Clark charges $150.00 per hour for labor. I also had Clark check out all 5 toilets in the house for proper functioning and he replaced one Kohler toilet tank flapper. I would highly recommend Clark if you want to use an honest and competent plumber in Marin County, CA.

It took two hours for him to install a new faucet, and after 4 days of work on the PVC pipe leak, the leak repair was still not complete. In his defense, with my permission he installed some copper piping and shutoff valves in the area of the leak, and those seem to work. However, he changed the appearance of the area without my permission and filled the entire irrigation box space with sand and gravel, covering all the pipes, which I had told him needed to remain exposed. There is now an underground leak in the same area which will require digging out all the sand and gravel to reach. I would not recommend this plumber.

"The existing main water controls were originally installed 18 " below grade . It was an unsupported PVC line tied into copper with an irrigation control box installed on top of the water main where the the leak was . I did try to repair this leak with all this system in place but it was impossible to do . , no space to work in and the old PVC piping brittle and breaking when moved . I had to cut the whole mess out to get to good piping where I could start the repair . I had the leak repaired on the first day . Which was the house water main. I left a valve and connection for the irrigation reattachment . I told her I did not want to do the irrigation reattachment , the existing irrigation piping was a complete mess . She insisted that I should do it as there was no gardener or sprinkler man to do the job . I should have stood my ground but agreed to do against my better judgement . The old system was totally against code . She did not know of its existance until we searched for it . I replumbed it above ground as is required and showed her my layout BEFORE any work was done . She watched the progress as I went along , NO complaints or objections . Only when I was finishing did she bitterly complain about ever aspect because it did not look exactly as it did before when it was in a non code layout . I plumbed it correctly and there are no problems other that changed appearance which can be covered by a potted plant . I only charged her for materials and wavered about 6 hours of labor . I don't know what more I could be expected to do . I offered suggestions about the way to replant and cover with potted plants but she would not listen . There is no leak on the house main service and no leak on the irrigation either as of yesterday at 5pm ."

"The original work done at the installation was very very poor and was a can of worms to work on . Since the problem persists I have tried repeatedly to get back in and take care of the problems . [Member Name Removed] has not been available and missed our last attempt to return . Also I have not been paid . As of 10/3/18 ,I have since returned and continued to fix the existing problems and have done this extra work with no charges to the customer . I completed all repairs and there were no futher isses and no further leaks ."

Took a couple trips to repair 3 separate lines, but Clark stuck with it and returned at the time promised. Other plumber failed to resolve the problem.

I reached Clark on Friday evening and he promptly showed up on Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. He was a good listener, identified the plumbing problem and clearly knew his business. The issue of my clanking pipes called for some investigation, and he got straight to work, crawling under the house, diagnosing, and coming up with a solution. He returned a couple of days later with all of the parts and materials, and every single issue has been resolved (replaced old gasket in toilet, sealed crack in sink, added air valve to silence pipes, adjusted water pressure). A very nice man with a methodic approach. I would call him again in a heartbeat. Fair pricing, too.

Clark is a competent and very conscientious plumber. He provided solutions and workarounds to our plumbing issues and we felt as though he had our best interests in mind. We met him over a weekend when we had a bit of an emergency. He came over on a Sunday, but did not charge us an exorbitant amount. Clark is friendly and professional. We will continue to use him as our go-to plumber. Also, he recommended we check out Jackson's Hardware in San Rafael - a cooperative hardware store - and we had an excellent experience with the staff. All in all a high quality experience with Clark.

Called Clark at 11:00 and he was out at the house after 1:30 per my requested time. Most plumbers would have told me I needed a new hot water heater so you can imagine my surprise and delight when Clark called to say he just needed to replace a part. He was extremely easy to work with and called as soon as the work was completed. I would definitely call Clark again for my plumbing needs.

Clark responded right away to my call, and showed up within the next 2 hours as promised. He pulled out the toilet and discovered that the fitting was incompletely sealed. He was able to address the problem right away. While he was there, a new leak in another pipe was discovered. He was able to go out and pick up some parts, and repaired that one too, even did the drywall when it was finished. He was professional,, charged reasonably, responsive, cleaned up after the work, and very fair.

Perfectly smooth. Clark is easy going, thorough and knows his stuff. He was flexible about how to install lines while I asked about different options. I preferred a local business owner over a franchise business. I would recommend Clark.
