I originally turned in a request to replace the fan motor.  This could have been hundreds of dollars.  Larry came and said he would like to trouble shoot the controls first before replacing the motor.  He found the motor itself was ok but the condenser needed to be replaced.  He had the parts on the truck and got my A/C running again in no time.  Nice guy and we had conversation about motors and controllers while he fixed the unit..   Great service

Arrived promptly and solved problem.  Also did a temporary fix on the leak until my roofer could check it out.

They are clean and fast. I have had no unit problems.

They did a fantastic job. They were the best out of three providers we were looking into. They really went above and beyond. They were terrific.

When one zone of the 4-zone heating system  was not working we called another "Angie's List Super Service Award" winner to fix the system. That company sent a technician over to check the system who first stated that one motorized damper was bad but sent me a proposal for a completely new zoning system with new control board and 4 new motorized dampers because he said that the replacement parts were not available. I called the zone system manufacturer who told me that all parts were available locally. After I realized that this company was lying to me, I called Allen Heating in Greenbrae, CA to check out the system. The technician, Ron discovered that a loose wire at a terminal was the cause of the problem. After inserting and securing this wire the system was
fixed.
The cost includes a spare motorized damper assembly that was left in the home for future use since the system is over 20 years old and replacements might not be available in the future.
I would highly recommend Allen Heating & Sheet Metal.

I believe that was August 2011. Well, I cannot find the invoice but it was approximately $1500 like a little bit more. It was very positive. They came out when they said they would do the work. Record me there and expected it and requested that they added a new van for the furnace. They went hid and did that and no problem and I was very satisfied. All I can say is that they did a good work, came when they said they would, did a good job, there is no problem with having them come back after the city requested the additional work and I am very happy with it.                      .

The company was very nice from the time I made the appointment to have our furnace serviced until I talked with the billing person to pay my bill.  I was able to get an appointment in  a timely manner.  The technician Ron arrived in a timely manner.  He was very nice, professional and a people person.  He did the job efficiently.  The furnace runs well now. We will continue to use this company for our heating needs.

All done with little disruption to us even tho the tech had to go under the house , into the attic.  Most work was performed in the garage.  The installation took most of one day plus another hour on following day.

Friendly and caring service pro, Ron, inspected our system and confirmed that it was working and that it was unnecessary to "make a project out of fixing a working system."  He was very logical in explaining that expensive fixes would not "make up for" basic issues of our older home (uninsulated walls and single paned windows) so not to spend money needlessly.He did give very practical advice on the areas that were easy enough to improve, and he is returning with a custom filter "fix".  He insisted that he not charge me their reasonable service call fee until he has set me up with a filter system we can maintain ourselves.  I was thrilled with the honesty and service!

I have had two different heating systems serviced by them (once in 2010, once in 2011).  In both cases they came out to service my system promptly and was on time.  The technician was personable, professional, and really took an interest in making my system work.  First rate experience on both occasions!

They were good. I was pleased with the whole transaction.

We had an appointment for 8.30am. At 7.15 the technician called to give us additional options- we chose 7.30am and he arrived on time. He took care of the work quietly and professionally, giving me a good description of the state of the units.

We interviewed and took bids from three companies and ultimately chose Allen primarily because of the thoroughness of Jim's presentation. He fully described the furnace choices and explained the various rebates available to us, including exactly how to process the claims for them. The Company took care of obtaining the necessary permit for us (a time-sensitive issue due to the City's impending cost increase and duct inspection requirement). The actual removal of our old furnace and installation of the new one was performed on time and without a glitch. Unfortunately, I don't recall the name of the man handling this job, but he was thorough, competent and courteous; he cleaned up after the job was done, and he patiently took time to explain all the new "bells and whistles" to us.

They were very efficient and did a very good job. They were quick and responded to our needs very fast. They were professional and I highly recommend them.

Overall it went very well. Michael initially was surprised when he saw there were three vents in the room. He was expecting to only redirect one vent. He explained why he thought one would be sufficient for the room and he was obviously very knowledgable. I decided to close off two vents and only use one. When I received the invoice, I was dismayed to see it was $477, at the high end of the estimate, even though the job went much more smoothly than anticipated. I wrote a letter to Jim Allen expressing my feelings. In response to my question regarding hours billed, he explained that they charge for travel time. However, he did reduce the invoice by $100.

Jim Allen gave me a detailed estimate, complete with the amount of rebates I would get under two different energy efficient furnaces so I could make a decision knowing the net out-of-pocket. The project was completed over two days and went smoothly. One of the furnaces malfunctioned shortly thereafter and someone returned promptly to address the problem which involved something getting into one of the lines. The office was helpful to me in securing the rebates.

They were good. I am going to have them come back to give the estimate to replace the heater. They did a fabulous job. They were on time and efficient. The price was competitive.

I had an excellent experience working with Allen Heating & Sheet Metal. They did all of the work on time. Everyone was extremely polite and professional. I could not have been more impressed. The price was better than some of the competitors.

After the first technician did the service call and said the heater was working O.K., my Realtor hired the same company - different technician, though - to come out again a month later to check something with the vent. At that time, the second technician found a disconnected return air vent that had the wrong size filter in it. Nothing was touched or changed in any way on the heating system or this vent in between the first trip Allen heating made and the second. When I called to question the discrepancy, the owner of the company was defensive and rude. Instead of simply finding a way to solve the problem, he left me feeling that no one should speak to a customer in the way that he spoke to me.
