We were very happy patronizing this business, which we had purchased from before (about three years ago when we upgraded a shower). At that time, we bought porcelain tile here. This time, it was granite. They have some pre-fab pieces to choose from, but not the color we wanted, which was green. Anna showed us a small sample of a green they could get, which we loved, but it turned out that was no longer available and a different shade of green was now being shipped. She got the sample of that, and we loved it. Another couple saw the same sample and ordered it sooner than we did -- we had the chance to come to the shop when theirs arrived to see the large slabs. This confirmed our choice and we went ahead and ordered. We love what we got.
We had heard that you should definitely see the actual slab you are getting before agreeing to purchase. That was not possible in our case -- had we not liked what showed up after we placed the order, I'm not sure what would have happened. But, the owners are willing to work with you and we were happy to support a local small business run by good people, Anna and Stelian.
The fabrication and installation was done by Stelian as part of his business, Old World Tile & Stone, which I will review separately. (We were very happy with this experience also.) However, you don't have to use him. When we bought shower tile here a few years ago, a contractor friend of ours installed it.
When shopping for tile and stone in western Nevada County, you should include a visit here. We're happy we did.
