John Washburn Painting

John did an excellent job. He is on time and flexible with construction going on.  He is also very talented at helping pick colors and he makes wonderful suggestions.

He was courteous, meticulous, clean and on time without fail. He even worked within our time frame to get everything done 3 days before the holidays. We found his prices to be extremely reasonable, and will hire him again for all our painting projects.

John was great. Polite, professional. Our only snag was that he underestimated how long it would take but that was manageable. I really appreciated the way he worked - very clean and neat - kept his mess to a minimum and cleaned up thoroughly every day.

John was responsive to my initial phone inquiries and subsequent e-mails that I sent. He came to our home to see it prior to sending an estimate via e-mail a few days later.
Prior to beginning the work, he was very patient to explain how to choose colors and think about colors that might work in our house with our current furnishings, all the while letting me figure out my own preferences. Some of this we discussed by phone, some by e-mail and finally in person right before he started the work. This was a tremendous service as we have never chosen colors for walls and it could easily have been very overwhelming without this tutorial. He gave space to ask questions and to change our mind regarding the colors, we never felt rushed and could see that he wanted us to feel good about our decisions. He also made suggestions about types of paints that would work best considering that we have young children who are always touching the walls. He made the suggestion that we consider painting our ceilings (which we hadn't considered before). In the end, these suggestions made a noticeably positive difference in outcome of the work. I would say that these and quot;pre-paintingand quot; consultations are definitely a and quot;value-addedand quot; service you get with John.
John was extremely prompt each day, sticking to a very predictable schedule. He would arrive by 8 am each morning and leave by 4:30 every afternoon. He was accomodating of our needs to be around the house while he worked, including being very kind to my young son. At one point we had a minor miscommunication about whether I wanted the wall-hangings to be put back up (I didn't), but it was cleared up with ease and he accomodated my request, even though it meant more work for him. John is very methodical about making sure that the floors and furniture are protected and cleaning up afterwards.
In general, I would say John's work was done thoroughly and his workmanship was solid. His experience shows.
