POOLS BY YOU INC

MIt went poorly.  Without direct supervision I would not trust this company to do what they say they will do, nor to bill for actual services provided.  Switching to another pool care company was the only way to resolve the 'green pool' problem.  I consider Pools By You, Inc., (A.K.A. Pat's Pool Service) to be unethical as a business.  I would not recommend them unless you are prepared to closely monitor their work. 

Work was performed over 3 days. The old skimmer and plumbing was removed and replaced. A dedicated vacuum port was also installed. The concrete was replaced around the skimmer and water lines. A new pump that I had purchased was also installed. The contractor was available to start immediately and I needed the work to be performed quickly. I did not have a chance to compare many estimates due to the need to have the repairs made quickly. The new equipment works good. However, a lot of construction debris was left behind in the yard.

I was very unhappy with this company. They charged me $80 per month and then "nickel and dimed" me to death. Every month was more like $130. They charged me $14 for a bag of $6 salt, things like that. Every month there were tons of extra charges. They charged me for conditioner, and a later pool test showed that they had never added conditioner. Charged me for weeks when no one showed up. Charged me for full service when all the pool guy did was skim off the top of the pool. Didn't even clean the skimmer - which was so clogged that my pool pump ran dry. Unbelieveable - run from these guys.

THEY'RE FINE. THEY ARE ADEQUATE. WE'VE HAD THEM FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS, AND WE WERE NOT INTERESTED IN CHANGING COMPANIES. THE PERSON THAT'S DONE THE WORK IN THE LAST YEAR HAS BEEN EXCELLENT. THE POOL ALWAYS LOOKS GOOD.
