Air Duct Cleaning
A year ago American Air Care cleaned my heater (and my wallet) to the tune of $1,200. They said that annual maintenance was part of the deal but when I called back a year later they said that I had to pay for the maintenance. I reminded them of the process and I had kept the paperwork and they said they would send someone out and the charge would be covered under the original $1,200. They broke their first appointment and never called back to reschedule. I called them and after some wrangling they agreed to come out. When they arrived they thought they were doing a whole cleaning. I reminded them the it was just maintenance and after looking over the system said that I needed all new ducts! It was going to cost $2,000. He said if I booked the work the same day it would be $1,800. I was amazed that they were brazen enough to ask for more money than the original job. He said that we had rats in the attic (which we've never heard) and they were chewing through the ducts. I said no.

Air Duct Cleaning
Jason arrived on time with two others in his crew. Because we had a coupon, he initially charged $149. He then found a broken duct and a gave us a new estimate to repair it and to clean the heater unit. He also told us we needed to replace the filter because it was also damaged. He pressured us to purchase an ultraviolet light system that he said would kill microbes in the air that gets sucked into the heater, but we refused. After he completed the repair and cleaning, he continued to pressure us to purchase the ultraviolet system, which we refused. He then charged us an additional $120 for a new filter, which we thought was included with the new estimate. Even though the work done by Jason and his crew was ok, it was an unpleasant experience that I feel we paid too much for.

Air Duct Cleaning
THE PROCESS WAS FAIRLY SIMPLE. THE 'SALES PERSON' WAS DEFINITELY A SALES PERSON. THE THINGS HE TOLD ME AS TO WHY WE SHOULD DO EVERYTHING WE DID MADE SENSE. HOPEFULLY HE WAS RIGHT.

THE CREW WAS PUSHING TO FINISH THE JOB AND I HAD TO POINT OUT THE DUCTS THAT HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED.
