Buildingworx' reputation precedes them (USC credentials and all) We did not select them to do our remodel due to our budget constraints but, had we had the extra 15% or so (not a crazy increase for excellent work), we would have hired them. Great professionalism and follow-through on their part.
Description of Work: Buildingworx was one of three contractors we considered to do a full remodel and addition/expansion to our house. We met with the owner, Mr. Robert Artura. He was very professional and knew what he was talking about. he sent an architect he often works with, Mr. Steven Phillips, to our house to assess the amount of work that needed to be done. We wanted to push out the whole south wall by about 13 feet thereby, adding approximately 776 sq.ft. of space to the master bedroom and living room areas, as well as remodel the kitchen and existing 2 bathrooms, and add a 3rd full bathroom to one of the guestrooms as well as a quarter bathroom for the pool area. Both gentlemen did an excellent job interacting with us and explaining the caliber work that they perform. we viewed some of their past work and it was exceptional. And though we wished we could have hired BuildingWorx; due to our own budget constraints, we were unable to do so. However, I would highly recommend this contractor.

I had heard allot of horror stories about general contractor's and was very concerned but this company is the exact opposite. They were on time, on budget, and absolutely on top of the project. We told them we had four months to finish the project and by God they were done in four months. We told them we had only this much money to spend and they actually brought us in under budget. Just so you don't have to read the whole review let me summarize it for you:If you want it done right, on time, and on budget using trades that you would usually only have access to if you lived in the super rich parts of the San Gabriel Valley and a group of people who will treat your home like it was their own home then HIRE THESE PEOPLE. Period. Full Stop. Robert Artura is the business development side of the partnership and Ryan Zivelonghi is the licensed General Contractor side of the partnership. Both of them are former Mur-Sol Construction employee's who decided to start their own business. Which means you will get the quality of work, innovation, customer service, eye towards detail, project management, building trades and craftsmen, as well as materials suppliers that Mur-sol was famous for under the leadership of Danny Grohs the founder of Mur-Sol at a price that cannot be beat. Robert met with us, reviewed our plans and budget and then worked very hard to value engineer our project so we had the top notch trades but kept us on budget. He was also instrumental in obtaining fixtures and finish materials at prices that I can't publish here because I would get in trouble. He always answered his phone no matter the time of day and was our advocate when it came to negotiating anything business related. He also was very patient and took the time to make sure we were always in the loop on what was going on. Were I to compare him to a historical figure I think of him as a combination of Steve Ballmer the CEO of Microsoft and Bill Clinton. I say that because he has the charisma and ability to understand the customer's wants and needs that Bill Clinton did and the business acumen and professionalism of the CEO of Microsoft. Ryan was on site every day at least twice a day if not more and treated our house like it was his house. He is an absolute perfectionist and very very detail oriented and I mean that in a good way. Several times during a walk through he would find something that the inspector had passed or met the plan requirements but to him just wasn't good enough so he made the trade doing the work replace it or fix it on the spot so it met his high standards. Several times he would call me and tell me that such and such wasn't done the way he wanted it so he was getting it straightened out when he didn't have to and it was to code but again didn't meet his exacting standards. He also was always good about texting or answering his cell day or night. He is able to hold the "big picture" in his head while still keeping track of the minute details that can make or break a project. His skills at scheduling were amazing and he brought the project in ahead of schedule and no trade was either waiting on another or misscheduled. Think of him as being the Storming Norman Schwarzkopf or Colin Powell of the General Contractor business. They also assigned a site superintendent to our project named Kris. Kris was an absolute dream come true in terms of day to day operations. He acted as our representative when Ryan wasn't on site and worked closely with my wife and I to make sure the vision in our heads became reality on the site. Where Ryan was the "General" and was the no nonsense get things done my way or the highway senior commander of the site Kris was the seasoned field officer who worked behind the scenes to keep everyone pulling in the right direction and focused on getting the job done the right way the first time regardless of how hard it was. Every morning as I was leaving for work at 6:30 am Kris would be parked outside with a smile on his face and a cup of coffee in his hand reviewing what was happening that day or on the phone confirming that a given trade was going to be there at a given time. Think a combination of Tom Hanks' and Tom Sizemore's characters in Saving Private Ryan.
Description of Work: We hired Building Worx to handle our 1,100 sq ft addition and 600 sq ft remodel of our home. We were adding a master bedroom, 2 new bedrooms, 2 new bathrooms, and a master bathroom. We were demolishing an existing kitchen, master bedroom, 2 bedrooms, and dining room and replacing them with a new kitchen, dining room, movie room, home office/4th bedroom. And lastly we were redoing the living room and adjusting structure to meet the new open concept layout for the house, putting a brand new roof on the entire house, replacing the insulation, HVAC, and exterior stucco.
