OREGON CHIMNEY SWEEP

Wow. What a great vendor, and a very nice guy. I called for service and Jerry was at my house the very next morning on a Saturday. He was friendly and professional, and most importantly honest. I had called for a sweep, as I had not had one in a couple years and I burned a lot of wood last winter. First, he inspected my chimney and told me that it probably was not dirty enough to merit a sweep and gave me the option of performing the sweep or paying for a basic service call/inspection (at a lower price). I had him perform the sweep. He was efficient and thorough. Best of all, he provided honest information concerning the condition of my chimney (I know because I had an independent inspection preformed when I bought the house), and he didn't try to use the sweep call as an excuse to try to upsell me work that was not needed. I will definitely call him again for the next sweep and would not hesitate to recommend him to others.

We had had a chimney fire.  Mr. Campbell thoroughly inspected and cleaned the chimney and fireplace and told us no repair was needed.  He also pointed out a deficiency in the way the previous owner had added brick over the original fireplace exterior tiling and suggested how I should remedy it.  He was polite, professional, punctual, knowledgeable--every good word you might apply to a tradesman--and the work was quite reasonably priced considering how long it had been since we had last had it serviced.  I paid him extra.  We have found our chimney person.

Be honest and punctual with him, and he'll show you the same respect.  Ask him about tips to ensure proper use of the chimney.

Perfect!  Jerry called me back ASAP and was available over the holiday season.  We needed the chimney cleaned so we could switch over to gas logs in our original 1950's fireplace.  He arrived right on time, was extremely professional and polite.  Cleaned up everything before he left and made the experience wonderful!

Very professional. Jerry arrived on time and explained exactly what he was going to do. He was very careful to keep everything clean and neat. In addition to the fireplace and chimney cleaning, he mentioned that the spark arrestor screen atop the fireplace did not fit very well so we had him replace that while he was there.

Great! Jerry was very prompt, courteous & professional. Called to get an estimate and he was out the next day. Inspected chimney for problems and determined we just needed a cleaning. Whole process took about an hour. With the amount of use we give our fireplace, he recommended a cleaning every 5 years.

Jerry was top-rate when it came to responsiveness, professionalism, and punctuality. Not only did he clean out chimney in just over an hour, and not only did he have thoughtful remarks about how we could make our chimney and fireplaces work better for us, but also he fixed the broken damper for an extra charge of just $35 ? saving us the north of $700 repair we were told we needed. The work was also clean and the total experience headache-free.

It went perfectly from beginning to end: on time arrival, thorough examination of my chimneys, clear and concise recommendations, even help with cutting branches and disposing of them, and final recommendations on which type of wood to order for my type of fireplace. Perfect.

Jerry, the owner of Oregon Chimney Sweep, came to my recently purchased home to clean the chimney and inspect the both the fireplace and chimney for any safety concerns. Besides a thorough cleaning, he also installed a new gas pipe, ash pit cover, and chimney cap. Because my house is over 80 years old, and I'm not very educated about building standards now vs. then, he also gave me a report on the structure of the chimney, including recommendations for further safety measures and the maximum size/duration of fire it could handle. I was very pleased with the level of service he provided and the thoroughness of his work!

I found him to be extremely professional, honest, and through, and recommend him highly. Jerry asked if I wanted to do a camera inspection when I spoke with him on the phone, for an extra $50 dollars. "Sure, if that's what I should do" I told him. I expected that I would be charged for cleaning, and that he would probably tell me that the camera was needed. However, Jerry came out, did a visual inspection from the bottom, climbed to the roof, removed the spark-arrestor cap and inspected from the top, and told me there was nothing wrong with the chimney, that it didn't need cleaning, didn't need the camera inspection and hadn't been used in ages. He then calculated the dimensions of the chimney, and told me that the flu size was too small for the fireplace opening, and it was likely to have problems of smoke into the room. He advised me to solutions, wrote a detailed report, and charged me for a service call.

Jerry was a competent and excellent worker who cleaned everything up after wards so that there was no dust or soot what so ever.

Great. He was a few minutes EARLY which I find rare these days. Very professional and thorough and gave me a report right away. He also loves cats.

Jerry was very professional and knew his trade. He knew what was safe and what would meet code. I was so glad that he looked at my fireplaces before I turned them on! He gave good advice on how I could make them safe.

He was very helpful in helping me understand our fireplace better, how to care for it, and recommendations on things to look out for. He explained what type of fireplace we had, how big the wood should be, how to burn a clean fire, and even showed me his picture book to help me understand what was going on inside the chimney.

We were the first stop, so he came at 7AM (as promised!). Examined chimney from roof and from inside, and pronounced it sound, and then cleaned it - it was FILTHY - nothing had been done for ten years and that build-up is flammable! No mess at all. Super nice, cleaned up everything. Just a dream. And very reasonable!

Jerry showed up promptly at the agreed upon time. He was professional and offered information and safety tips. He was clean and left no debris, ash, etc. Overall, it was an excellent experience.
