We have 6 animals; 3 dogs and 3 cats.
We used Lara back in July and and have been using her ever since.
I am VERY particular about who takes care of my fur kids.
Communication is crucial.
Lara sent me daily texts confirming that she was at the house; she would
also send pics from time to time.
Dogs were walked, cats and dogs fed and one of my cats needs meds and
they were administered.
All was well when we returned.
We were gone for almost 2 weeks in July and Lara has an assistant, Jill who
helped out when Lara had a conflict.
Jill was just as great...daily texts and photos.

I got a job last minute that took me out of town and I needed someone to watch my two dogs (Sarah & Riley). My other pet sitter was unavailable.  I had to find someone i could trust with my babies and my house for a few days on very short notice.  This is not easy.  I decided to use Angie's list as a starting point.  I felt safer starting there as opposed to yelp or other pet services website.  I came across Lara's business and it stuck out to me as a friendly and kind person.  Her ad seemed down to earth and just trustworthy.  So, I decided to contact her.  Lara responded to me almost immediately.  From then on, I have had nothing be an exceptional experience.  Our initial conversations were thru emails working out dates, price and such.  Each time, Lara responded timely and positive.  We arranged a time for her to come over and meet my kids (Sarah and Riley).  She came over and I could tell immediately that my babies and house were going to be ok.  She was armed with a warm hello to both me and my dogs. But she also had professionalism.  She also had pen and paper in hand ready to ask necessary questions and take notes.  She appeared to have a checklist of things to go over to ensure everything was covered.  i really appreciate that.  Lara and her associate Elissa took good notes and was able to follow my instructions without any problems.  Although I had just met them, I really felt save and secure with them and I could leave my babies and house with them in peace.  Lara seemed so willing to work within my specific guidelines and scheduling issues. I'm glad I called her.  Now, I am working with Lara to have her be my regular dog walker/sitter and occasional hiker with my two babies.  If you want someone you can rely on and at a really good price, you can end your search here.  I highly recommend Lara's Pet Sitting Service.

Nothing much else to say except she loves my dogs as much as I do.  By the way, at one time I had four dogs - three medium-large 50-65 pounds and one small - 15-20 pounds, and she had no problems at all.  I now have three of those four and she manages to keep them happy.  My dogs have a trainer and Lara was here for the briefing and learned exactly how to walk them.  When she has a problem with one - they're rescues and a little eccentric (nice way of saying crazy lunatics) - she talks to the trainer, does what he suggests, and fixes the problem.  If anything, she worries about them more than I do, and is far more likely to want me to take them to the doctor for the littlest problem.  Oh, did I mention that she takes the little one for grooming - the others she bathes in my large shower; she takes them to the Vet; she picks up their medicine; takes them to have their teeth cleaned; and when they go for their yearly physical - all three at once, she and I go together and she has no problem with them in the waiting room while I have one in the examination room. 

I'm an absolute fanatic about my dogs. I have had a total of 5 in my life - 2 for about 14 years and I now have 3 others of varying ages. For a while, I had 4 dogs, but then lost my little girl of 14 years. The day she died Lara was there petting her along with me, and crying almost as much as I was. We both loved that dog. And we both love the three I have now. In addition to walking them and sometimes running the cattle dog/Australian Shepherd (I think), Lara plays with them (tug, fetch, chase, whatever they want). She feeds them, bathes them, brushes their teeth, brushes them, ferminates them, gives them their pills, puts medicine on them, goes to the vet to pick-up the medicine, cleans up after them, sweeps my wood floors every day so the hair doesn't get several inches thick. Because the Vet is near my office, Lara brings the dogs to the Vet, and I meet them there. When they're finished, Lara takes them home. She takes the only one who requires grooming to the groomers to have him bathed and get his hair cut. She also takes them to the groomers when they have their teeth professionally cleaned. When I'm out of town, Lara stays overnight at the house with the dogs and does everything she usually does plus what I usually do. And while she's probably a better mother to them than I am, and they adore her, she makes sure I get all the attention when I'm home.
If I hadn't had Lara for the last six years I could not have worked the number of hours I've had to work to keep my job from becoming overwhelming because the guilt would have killed me. It was great knowing that someone was there who loved them and would take good care of them. In fact, when one is listless or seems particularly hot, Lara gets more anxious than I do! I have to keep her under control or she'd take them immediately to the vet.
I am in the process of having the dogs trained in sitting, staying, etc., but in particular having them learn to walk next to us, stop when we stop, etc. Not only did Lara take the extra time to show up for the "parents' session" with the trainer, but she's got my Cattle Dog/Aussie walking like a champ. While walking him she has him practicing everything else he learned, making sure he doesn't forget it. She's wonderful and I highly recommend her.
I would trust someone with my life before I'd trust them with my dogs, which really says all anyone needs to know about Lara.

Lara was very professional, knowledgable, and outgoing. She setup a consultation prior to us leaving and we had a list of information written out for her. When she arrived she had a list of questions for us that was great as there were many points we didn't even think to add to our list. This really showed her knowledge, experience and professionalism. We felt very comfortable having her stay at our house knowing that it would be in great hands. We had an issue with the mail while we were gone and she resolved the situation and sent an email exactly like we instructed. When we came back everything was in perfect shape and you couldn't tell anyone was in the house. We couldn't be more happy and will definitely use her again in the future.
