But, like all credible businesses in our industry, we have a $95 service charge to inspect and diagnose your unit. This fee is meant to discourage bogus, information only calls, but if you choose to make the repair, we will waive the full service charge. Angie's List members receive a discount of $ 25.00 on repair, new customers only, and we will conduct a 12 point Air Conditioning or Heating inspection for only $99.99. AC went out during this heat wave. Called Icy on Wed to schedule an appt for Fri (he had availability Th, but I did not). Greg showed up on time with a helper. He quickly diagnosed the problem. He replaced the capacitor from stock. He took the time to show me that it was bad and what it should be doing (demonstrated on the replacement unit). Checked the rest of the system to make sure it was all working well and it was. He didn't try to up-sell me or suggest any unnecessary "tuning" or repairs (as some AC repairmen have done to me in the past). Just a simple transaction of this is what's wrong - fix it - pay - and go. What service should be.

Our AC unit quit during a heat wave. I called and Greg set up an appointment for several hours later on the same day. It was a minor problem, fixed almost immediately,

Air con had died and we had no idea what the issue was during the "heat wave" in summer of 2013. Called Greg who scheduled an appointment to check it out the next day. After determining my old condenser was broken and needed replacing, he patiently explained and walked me through all the different options and brands, and allowed me to decide on one best for my house and needs.

We were having trouble heating our house. We had moved in two months earlier and were told when we moved in that the heater was old. Icy Air could have easily sold me a new AC heater, but they did a total diagnosis and said it was fine. They made a few recomendations and we made it throught the winter without any problems.

This contractor was great. The bid was the lowest of the three that we gathered, it was complete and thorough. The work was performed cleanly, on time and with a smile. The inspector identified a problem after the job was complete, requiring significant rework. ICY didn't blink an eye, they accepted responsibility and promptly reworked the problem. Highly recommended!

I called ICY for routine maintenance of our AC unit they were timely, professional and punctual. Several days after this service call the AC unit began making "funny" noises so we called them back to make an assessment which they did. A different contractor had piched off the water condensation drain line which burned out the water pump designed to pump the water from the unit in the basement to the outside. ICY replaced the water pump and fashioned a new drain line--problem solved. The maintenance call cost $100.00 and the pump/drain fix cost $300.00.

The person came right on time, listened to everything we had to say, looked at the unit and came up with the solution to the problem and fixed the workings of the stuck switch. Checked thoroughly performance of the whole system, gave advice for maintenance. Everything is working fine now. Very friendly and excellent information about the a/c system.

Our A/C stopped working on the day before the historic record 113 degree heat wave in LA. I thought I would have a difficult time getting our A/C repaired, but Greg came out in the late afternoon the next day on the hottest day on record and fixed our A/C. I was afraid we would have to replace the whole system as it is kind of old, but Greg showed my husband that it was only a blown fuse and a melted fuse housing. He made the repairs and got our air-conditioner working again. The charge was $120 which I thought was very fair.

Greg answered the phone and told me he will be there in 1 hour. Showed up on time looked at my problem and gave me an estimate before he started the work. Be for he started he asked if i had any question regarding about the work. So he preceded with the work didn't on time and charged as he promised. Greg came out on a weekend to check our aging central air conditioning unit which gave out during a recent heat wave. He could have easily convinced us to replace the approx 20 year old unit. Instead he replaced a burned out fan motor and we were back in the coolness biz. He advised us that this could be the beginning of more problems with the unit so we can plan for its replacement. When the time comes to replace you can be sure that we will call on Greg at Icy Air Conditioning to do the job.
