Golden West was the Escrow company on one of my recent transactions. The service throughout was poor. Repeatedly, information that was sent to me for my signature was incorrect and had to be returned for corrections. They switched escrow agents half way through the process when the original escrow officer left the company but they never informed me. Not once did they contact me proactively. One of the Security Deposits was missed and had to be collected directly from the seller after the transaction closed. This escrow company is related to ReMax and seems to rely on the fact that they will get referrals from their agents and not need to worry about service.
