Bonus: he lives right here in Gilroy and has many customers in South County. He's popular (because he is skilled and reliable), so allow at least a couple of weeks when you want to schedule him!
At a dollar-a-minute, he spent a significant amount of the time that I had hired him for on phone calls to other clients, and he refused to discuss the issue of his time management with me; when I left the house to get more supplies, he started talking on the phone again; he failed to do the basics like clean up after himself when making holes in the drywall to mount our TV; he kept forgetting part of tasks and checking back in to announce that they had been done when they weren't. I paid him without a fuss simply to get him out of my house. He outright hung up on me when I declined to invite him back.
The whole experience with him was spending way too much money for very little value. Attitude, attitude, attitude. Take a big pass on this pissy prima dona! He can't take direction, he can't be trusted to work independently on projects, and he tries to run up the bill.
We hired this guy off of Angie's List because we were new to the area and merely needed the basics done. Big mistake. I should have done a lot more looking around. I found someone fabulous who charges literally half the price for fully insured, wonderful work with a great attitude. Keep looking. You don't want to deal with this guy in your house, and you can do a heck of a lot better, especially for the price.
