Everything went great, he tested other items in my oven as well to make sure they were working (thermostat, etc.) and once the ignitor was replaced he checked that the oven was working properly - twice. It's hard to find people committed to doing a good job, and this guy was great! I would definitely hire them again.

It was an b. We schedule the called and they told us the day before they did not had a second person available. And we had to reschedule. Which was a inconvenience with the resident. A week later when they show up the tech was by himself. So, there's was no reason to delay the first appointment. The tech was good, but can't recommend the company. Too many issue to schedule and getting thing taking care of.

I've used South Bay Appliance several times for repair work and I was happy with them however this time, getting the quote and estimate was painful. It took numerous calls and took 3 weeks to get the estimate. The install was scheduled a month out to allow the parts to be delivered. The microwave and trim work came in earlier and they still could not accommodate an early install. The Installers were on time and quick. They did a great job, and I have no complaints with them. I would still recommend the installers and the repair team. This review is strictly for the sales team. I will not purchase anything custom or that requires an estimate from them. I can see how it would take a few days, but it took weeks. They need more man power.

Their technician came out and assessed the situation and as we suspected we needed to have our igniter replaced. He was quick, thorough and efficient. He showed us things our oven could do that we didn’t even know!!! We will definitely use them again. We plan to visit their show room to purchase our new refrigerator and washer/dryer.

Shocked at the experience with this company after having read A list reviews. Had a technician come out to look at our prized antique 1951 O'Keefe and Merritt stove. Obtained an estimate of a little over $300 to repair the improperly heating oven. Accepted the bid and the company ordered the part. The technician showed up yesterday, attempted the installation, broke a manifold on the stove, then said to our tenant "These things happen". Received a call from South Bay saying they will accept no responsibility for their technician's breaking the appliance and offered to sell us a new stove (!!). Demanded a return call and a correctly done repair. Have yet to receive a return call. Sent an e mail. No response yet. Had to buy an temporary stove from Home Depot at a cost of a little over $600 until we can get this one repaired or replaced as the tenant refuses to pay rent without a stove. Unbelievable.

"We were contacted by Herron Real Estate Management on 12-3-2019 for a second opinion and estimate on an old gas range with a oven temperature problem. Our technician found the oven thermostat faulty causing a runaway temperature condition which could cause a fire if used. We gave a 357.11 estimate to install a new thermostat. Rafael from Herron Real Estate approved the estimate. Ike installed the new thermostat and found the old knob would not fit the new par, and the original thermostat was no longer available so we reinstalled the old part. We left the gas off because the old thermostat was leaking gas at the mounting flange and it had a runaway temperature condition, both unsafe. To fix the range we would need to remove the old thermostat for rebuilding because the original part was no longer available, and replace the mounting flange and gasket to fix the gas leak. We advised the customer it would not be practical to fix this range due to the increase in repair cost, the age of the range and that part can fail at any time after making repairs to the oven thermostat. After our technician left (Member Name Removed) called the office and accused us of breaking a range which was already not working correctly before we came out. To this day we have not received any payments for our services."

Ike was our repairmen and was so knowledgeable and friendly and funny. He fixed appliances that are 35 years old. I’ve decided that I’ll hire SB Appliance and Ike again to consult with us before we buy new appliances and redo our kitchen. He was that knowledgeable.

Had to pay for them come out to diagnose the problem. That's the only thing we didn't like. No free estimates. We were told up front, but they couldn't fix the problem, had a problem finding the parts needed. No refund whether they could fix the problem or not. As far as using them again is a question mark.

Very well. The technician was right on time, identified the problem quickly, had the parts on hand, and completed the repair all in less than an hour. I've also purchased appliances here and they are consistently friendly, with good prices, and locally operated for a long time. This is a much better option than a big box store.

Fully repaired and reminded me of the age of my refrigerator and that it was doing well by outlasting the average lifespan. But that I should be prepared to get a new in the next few years. Repairman was very knowledgable. Highly recommend!

Repair work went fine. He did a great job. Administratively, Did not receive call within specified time of part arrival. Had to check up on part orders when they arrive, which had arrived. But did not get processed promptly. I waited an extra couple of days to get it repaired.

I should begin by saying that I had had another Angie's List provider diagnose my issue and give me an estimate for the fix, which included ordering a new SubZero ice maker, a new water valve, and installing both, which would require two men to pull the unit out (SubZeros are big fridges). I decided that I wanted a second opinion, since the ice maker was totally frozen over (water was leaking all down the edge of my freezer) and he never actually pulled it out to look at it. I had used SB Appliance in 2014 (you can see previous review I wrote) and had had a good experience, so I had a hunch that maybe there was a simpler explanation. Mike listened to my concerns, pulled out the unit, and noticed that the fill cup (where the water is poured before it enters the tray -- I forget the exact name) had frozen over and that was causing the water to spill over instead of fill the ice tray. He melted the ice, reinstalled the tray, and voila! it was working. I am typing this four hours later, and I already have perfectly made ice cubes in my freezer. All this was done in no time at all, and Mike was patience and answered all of my questions. I can't believe how quickly it was done, and how much $$$ SB Appliance saved me. The previous provider I don't believe was dishonest -- I just think he rushed to diagnose the problem and wasn't thorough. Or maybe I'm naive or too trusting. In any event, I'm never going to even bother using anyone else. I've now used SB Appliance twice, and both times they gave me an honest assessment of the issue and fixed it at a reasonable cost. They're great.

We live pretty close to them so they are pretty prompt. They are good and very prompt. They are not cheap and there is nothing cut right on their prices but they are reliable and they are consistent. They are a little pricey but they are good. They know what they are doing. I would recommend them.
