Repeat customer since 2008. Called Chris (the owner) for our annual spring washing and made an appointment for later that same week. Chris and his assistant arrived on time. After donning booties over their shoes, they immediately began removing all the screens from the house. The assistant carefully washed the screens in the yard with soap and water to remove a year's worth of dirt and grime. Each window was hand-washed with soap and water inside and out, with extra care on the inside because of the tinted film on each window, and hand dried and polished. They hustled the entire time and cleaned up the area after each window was finished and the screen replaced. Two screens fell apart due to age and Chris provided a firm cost to replace and reinstall them (which only takes about a week). Every window sparkled when they were done and our ability to see out is visibly improved.

I was happy. Living near the beach means a lot of "stuff" collects on the windows. The house had not been washed on the outside in many years. I had arranged a bid on the work, and I decided to move forward on the job. The team from Professional Window Washing showed up on time. Their van was identified with their services and numbers, and the crew was uniformed. The job ended up being as professional as they looked! Will definitely have them back.

I spoke with Janet on the phone the week before and set the appointment. She gave me an estimate over the phone and said it would be within $50 under or over. She was right on. She came with her two workers and was on time, probably a few minutes early. They were done in about 2.5 hours. They were professional and did a good job.

Janet and her two workers showed up on time and everything seemed to go according to my expectations until the moss was placed in a trash bin. Janet became very defensive [a trash bin is for trash]...and took exception to my comments and questions during the day while they were working here. I, and my roommate noticed that our screens were not clean and called her to let her know. She said 'I did not skip a step' and was not interested in coming back the next day to see what we were referencing. I called her 4 times to see when she would stop back and she found this 'ridiculous'. I had to email her twice before she would deign to call us back - even though she agreed previously to come by to see our issues. All in all - I think this individual does not respond well to comments or questions regarding her methods. [I followed her around 'all day' - I didn't, but that is her perception. I am responsible for the $910 the HOA paid her]. If she chooses to issue a 'company response' - it will most likely be defensive and my 'problem' entirely. Her website states she will 'do everything to make it right' but that is to her definition...not the customers. In all fairness, I believe Janet means to do a proper job - however she is one of those individuals who is "my way or the highway" and does adequate work if not questioned or supervised. I'm from the old school that the 'customer is always right' and I believe my expectations were fair. I do not think this was her first encounter with people that do not behave the way Janet wants. Her reply will no doubt bear me out - it will be all my fault.
Response from Professional Window Washing
"In the 10 years I have been in this business I have only 3 customers that I would never do business with again. This client and her roommate are people I will never do business with again. Their unending list of requests all pertained to 'how' we went about getting our jobs done. They were more concerned with telling us how to do our job than on how our work turned out. If we didn't go about doing things their way then it wasn't good enough and they wanted it done over. They asked us to clean the rain gutters and then were upset that we threw the trash bags with the rain gutter debris in the garbage can, they were upset that we didn't clean the screens according to their method, they insisted that they had cleaned the windows themselves and that we should go about doing it the way they had done it in the past. They followed us around all day commenting on how we were performing our services, my employees almost walked off the job because these 2 were so annoying. I had the storm drain blocked and chemical absorbing booms in the street when we were pressure washing, in accordance with the laws we need to follow for The Clean Water Act and Peggy came out and unblocked the storm drain and moved the chemical booms out of the way because she didn't like that the water was pooling up - even though this is what I am required to do by law. I did revisit the job 2 times before I stopped returning her phone calls and emails. The nature of their complaints and requests spilled over into the realm of 'ridiculous'. They begged me to come back and perform services again in 6 months because "now I know how they like things done." I refused and told them there is no amount of money that makes it worth working for them. My guess is they have trouble getting any kind of service contractor to come back a second time. In my 10 years in business I have pleased some of the pickiest, most detail oriented people, but these 2 cannot be pleased."

Unfortunately, what had been a positive prior experience turned sour due to the company's handling of a mistake. After damaging a new desk, they refused to accommodate our reasonable request to replace the desktop (for a total of ~$700), instead insisting that we should accept a simple repair of same. The furniture company advised that - due to the desk's finish - a repair would be noticeable and advised replacing the desktop for minimal additional cost. The attempt to impose their standard of "good enough" rather than take responsibility for their error means that we will never be using this company again.
Response from Professional Window Washing
"I told the customer that I would take responsibility for the minor scratches on the desktop. They decided to withhold payment of $400 for the window washing work we did until we agreed upon a course of action for fixing the desk. After the customer contacted me with the price to replace the desk top, at $700, I asked them if they would give me the opportunity to find high quality wood repair professionals to give us bids on repairing the desk. There were 2 very minor scratches on the desktop and it is very possible it could have been repaired. They said they did not want to consider having it repaired, it would be too much hassle for the to have people bid on it – even though I said I would take care of getting people to give us bids and tell us what methods they might use for repair. I went further and contacted my insurance company about a possible claim and they said they would not approve a claim unless we explored the possibility of having the desk repaired rather than just replaced. The insurance agent assured me that it is standard in any industry to have both a repair and a replacement cost option presented to the responsible party. I also told the customers that if I were unable to find a wood repair professional that we were convinced could do the job or if they did not do the job satisfactorily, then I would be happy to pay for a replacement. They refused this offer and purchased the new desktop without giving me any recourse to another option for fixing the problem. And in withholding payment for the services my company rendered, they chose their own form of restitution."

The first two times she came, she brought out help with her. Since then she only sends out her help and I do not feel like they are not as thorough and efficient with out Janet with them.

This is the second time we've used them. Both times, very satisfied with the work. Janet (the owner) promptly responded to the call for an appointment. Very polite and professional. Both times, work was scheduled within a week of the call. Both times, Janet was on site supervising the work, and pitching in when needed. Estimates were accurate and did not change. Smiles and lots of elbow grease were evident in their work. The windows were sparkling when they were finished. We plan on using them again, roughly 2 times per year.

I telephoned and left a message, and was contacted back the next day. Someone came to the house to estimate the job and left a copy of the estimate in our mail box. I telephoned back and arranged a date for the work to be completed, and at the appointed time, the team came and did the work. They worked professionally and did not leave any mess. They offered to clean the chandelier for an extra fee, and my wife agreed to that addition. Overall an excellent experience -- if a little pricey. (We lived near London until 2007, and had our windows cleaned for about $20 per month -- outsides only.)

Everything went great. I called Janet and she came out the same day and gave me an estimate. She quoted my several prices--based upon whether or not I wanted just one service, or multiple services. She was very nice, & punctual and did an amazing job on our home.

Janet and her workers arrived on time and were very professional and efficient. My cleaning job was particularly challenging because the outside patio sliders had a railing that obstructed full access to the exterior portion of the windows. Plus they were 3 stories from the ground with shrubs further hampering direct access to the windows. Janet and her crew left all glass surfaces and screens sparkling, despite the challenge.

I have used this company before, so I called Janet and she gave me a choice of 2 days within the week. All I did was unloosen the screens so that they could be removed. I came home from work on my lunchtime and the job was already done. The property was neat and clean and the gates securely closed, which I appreciate. She always leaves the bill by the back door, and either comes by later in the day for the check, or I mail it to her. The windows look great.

They are professional, thorough and pleasant to have in the house. Janet does follow up and also offered to put us on a regular schedule for exterior cleaning of just the view windows. I had them back a second time for this and they again did an excellent job on just the necessary areas.
