We received a prompt response to our call. Jose suggested that since the existing brick could not be matched, we replace all brickwork showing above the sidewalk line. We were given an estimate which we accepted. As the work was being completed, we noticed that the grout lines were not evenly spaced, going from narrow to thick bands of mortar. Also, a piece of brick that was placed on the top front corner of the planter had a large chip in it when there were several undamaged bricks left over and not used. The man doing the work did not speak English and we did not speak Spanish, so we called Jose and asked him to come out to look at it. Jose arrived the next afternoon, refused to replace/correct the broken brick or make any effort or suggestion to rectify the problem and commented, "What did you expect for that price"?
