Alpha Appliances

I used another referral service when looking for a handyman.  I received an immediate response from a man stating he was from this company and using this phone number.  His name is Alan Garay (aka Alex).  When he wrote up his initial estimate it was on a form with "Alpha Appliances" it and when he sent an email to me it also had "Alpha Appliances" on it and this phone number is on papers I received from him . He seemed to be a very honest and professional person.  Everything he suggested sounded terrific.  When he asked for cash payment his explanation sounded reasonable.  He promised to start immediately and to work on the project exclusively until completion.  On the surface the work appeared to be proceeding correctly.  When I asked for receipts I was given convincing excuses.  As time dragged on and sections of the work were not being finished properly I began to question his professionalism.  When he was supposed to be doing the deep cleaning of the house was obvious that he didn't have the foggiest idea of how to accomplish it.  One excuse followed another until I ran out of time and just told him to leave even though I had paid for work that was either not done or done poorly.  When I demanded a refund he disappeared.  Since that time I have been told by professionals that most of the work that was done was done incorrectly (laughably) and some had to be redone immediately.  The only reason that I haven't taken legal action is because I don't have receipts for everything although I do have some cancelled checks and I have very little in writing.  I was extremely foolish!  I can't believe I fell for his lies!  He did clearly state that he worked for Alpha Appliances but I haven't been able to confirm it.  If you are contacted by someone named Alan or Alex Garay - BE CAREFUL!

I call this company because a friend of mine recommended.
I call and got an estimate over the phone, thus I new I could afford it before he came. He agree to modify his schedule to come when I was available and as per our conversation over the phone he knew what was wrong with it, he came and started working on it tight away and finish the same day. two days after he called and asked me how was I, and if I had had any problems with it again. I was also interested in buying a used refrigerator and he sold me one that has not given any problems.
An excellent overall experience.
