They always showed up on time and were super easy to work with. The additional electrical outlet was not part of the original contract and was very reasonably charged at $90. As far as cost of the job their bid was competitive with our other offers. Most of the other contractors we contacted were not interested in any solid surface shower solution and only wanted to install new tile.
They were more than willing to come back and adjust the temperature control inside the new shower valve. They also indicated a willingness to come back and help with install of some shower accessories if needed without additional charges.
Over all we are super pleased with their work and will definitely use them again should the need arise.

We interviewed several contractors for the work.  We visited several former job sites and interviewed prior clients.  Troy Maulden of Ready Renovation stood out.  Although he is a small company (2 people) the quality of his work is outstanding.  He also uses very good subcontractors for specialized jobs such as cabinetry.  Several of the former clients we interviewed indicated they used Troy multiple times with outstanding results.  We hired Troy for the stairway and closet work and were not disappointed!  We will be using Troy again for two additional projects.  He comunicates well and keeps us informed about the project.  He keeps the work area as clean as possible and cleans up every afternoon before leaving the job.  He is quite knowledgeable about building codes and buliding techniques.  He is concerned about the quality of his work and strives to make the finished product as good as possible.Mike Holmes would approve of this contractor! They go the extra extra mile.  I made a few changes and they never hesitated in my request.  They came in under time and provided a rate reduction as a result.  They will be doing more work for me very soon and I recommend them to anyone.

They installed a Jacuzzi tub with shower with tile and glass around the paneling.  They had to do some electrical work and also installed a pocket door.  They did not do painting in my kitchen and bathroom.  They just finished with everything.  I got three quotes, and theirs was probably in the middle.  They were the most responsive and easiest to communicate with.  It was kind of like the best price and the best people to work with.  It's the first time I ever had work done.  They did really good quality work for the money.  The workmanship was really good.  They did an amazing job on the front of my house.

Their prices were extremely competitive and the quality of work was good which is always a tricky combo. Sometimes people come with a lower bid but you regret it later but with those guys if they were going to do a job they were going to do it right. They start something and then they would take on work with a couple of other people and they would not return phone calls repeatedly. We ended up having a yelling match the last time they finished. I would not allow them to set foot in my home at this point. The main working guy stood at my front door and told me that I was lucky that he showed up. I had problems after my father's dying to reschedule. It's funny because I recommended them to a couple of people prior to this but this time they didn't return calls. They would reschedule things and not tell me. The inspector was coming twice and I told them I have a dog so tell me which day and a give me a window so that I can either be here or put the dog in day care and they just wouldn’t tell me. The inspector would show up when I didn't expect them and they wouldn't show up when I expect them. They did a horrendous job of contacting me and letting me know of what was going on. The work was great when they showed up but it just annoyed me. If you try to and argue with them you are the bad guy. I felt bad recommending them, and this all started after I recommended them to others though they have not had any similar problems. This has been going on for about one and half to two years. The work was good and I don't feel like completely holding them. We have kind of worked some of the stuff out but they never did get their communication together. I would tell people to give them a shot because the price and quality of work would be good but just be prepared for delays. The shorter the project it is better because if it gets too big then it could be a problem but I personally would never use them again.

The project went well. Troy provided us a written contract with the individual costs for materials and labor, including a deadline. He had resources for accessing the materials we needed/wanted. The start date was later than we would have hoped due to their scheduling, but once they started the project took a little less than 2 months. Troy was wonderful about getting the job done in a reasonable time. Any delays were on the part of our other sub-contractors for cabinets. There was some misunderstanding about availability on tile, but that was worked out in the end. With any remodel, we had some add-ons (including a new side door) as the project went along and Troy worked with us on pricing, especially for the labor. They did a great job on a new window with new trim and window sill. What we loved was that Troy would come back a few weeks after the finished project to do any "touch-ups."

Troy came to give us an estimate to install tile. He was prompt, very personable and we found the estimate to be very fair. We had to wait for our tile to come in since we had ordered it ourselves. Troy said he would be glad to pick it up, but when it came in, we were able to do so ourselves. The tile we ordered matched tile that we already had in other rooms and we were very fortunate to find the exact same tile. Unfortunately when the work was about 2/3 done, we noticed that not all the tile was was the same dye lot. This was not Troy's fault but that of the tile store. Troy was very understanding and said they would stop with the work since we didn't have enough tile to finish, and when the replacement tile would be in they would finish the work. We had to wait a couple of weeks for the correct dye lot to come in, but once the right dye lot arrived, Troy was very accomodating and he and his foreman Jose finished the job. They also took off the old baseboards and replaced them with new ones. They did a great job.Troy is a general contractor and he does other work besides tile. In fact, we have ordered some bamboo flooring and we will have Troy install it. I would recommend Troy and Ready Renovations. They do very good work at a reasonable price.

Troy's great. I previously used him for my bathroom remodel. Called him a year later to do this project. He replaced the (what's opposite of arch) with an arch. We had recently got our kitchen done, and were missing the finishing touches. He also took our existing pony wall and (see picture, before it didn't have a white capping), and added molding, white wood, and painted. It took him about 3 days to do. But not the entire day each day. Everyday he had to come by, and sand the arch, until the frame was clean and covered. He had a helper this time, that did most of the work. I forgot his name, but he was also very professional, cleaned up after the job, and was very punctual. After the job was complete, I noticed that the paint on the pony wall needed to be covered one more time. The next day his helper came by and painted another layer, no questions asked.

I had a bad experience with a contractor (contractor #1) that I found through another site and hired to build a master suite addition to my house. He completed 50% of the work (poorly) and walked off the job leaving me stranded. I found Troy on Angie?s list and asked him to bid on the job. Although I was impressed with his thorough and professional approach, his bid was higher and I decided to go with a Contractor I had worked with before. When the job was completed by Contractor #2, I had not only spent more than Troy?s bid but some issues still remained from the original contractor and the finishing details were not all satisfactory. I decided to live with it for awhile until the rainy season arrived and I discovered that the work in my backyard was not graded properly. Water was going under my house and my back door was hung so poorly that my new hardwood floors were warping from the moisture coming in at the threshold. I called Troy for another estimate and it really was Troy to the rescue. Even though this job was significantly smaller than the first job he had bid on, he came out right away, diagnosed the problem and delivered 2 bids with 2 different solutions at a fair cost. Troy was a pleasure to work with. I found him to be responsive and professional, keeping me informed throughout the process. He does quality workmanship and delivers on his promises. My job was relatively small so it was done by Troy and one other worker. They arrived when they said they would, finished what they promised and left the space as clean as they found it. Even more impressive was that he asked for a deposit of 10% to begin the job and would not take a final payment until I did a walkthrough and agreed that the work was done to my satisfaction. I whole-heartedly recommend Troy, would use him again and am sorry I did not find him in the beginning when I started my project.

We hired this guy Troy based on the “glowing” reviews here on Angie’s. Let's just say that we had to hire other contractors to clean up the mess this company left behind. We ended up spending close to $30k just on this company alone. Way beyond our spending expectation. On several occasions, they didn’t care to check their work. We have to point out the problems. The attention to details diminished as the job progressed. Some items around the house were probably thrown away without asking us. When asked he couldn’t follow up. In the end, they were unable or refused to complete some of the work contracted. IMHO, they took on a project that they couldn’t handle. When someone invested the kind of money like we did on a project he/she expects some sort of satisfaction at the end. We felt we were let down. Our biggest surprise and disappointment was the way their lead man had treated us. In the future, I’d be very careful hiring contractors with only “glowing” reviews on Angie’s and would pay more attention to the negative reviews. Good luck.

I contacted three hardwood floor installers and only Ready Renovation had the ability to obtain strand woven bamboo for us. Strand woven bamboo is three times harder than ordinary bamboo flooring (about as hard as oak) and has no chemical preservatives in it (it qualifies as a "green" product). Troy, who supervises Ready Reno's operations, actually made the bid to install our hardwood floors upstairs and downstairs in our home while Ready Reno was doing a bathroom remodel for us. I was already aware of their work ethic and the quality of their work, so I took their bid... and they gave me the best bid for the type of flooring we wanted. Not only that, it was much easier co-ordinating putting in new floors with the remodel since both projects were being handled by the same contractor. I suspect that we would have to have waited until Ready Reno was all done with the bathroom remodel before we had another vendor come in and do hardwood floors throughout the house. Troy was able to begin the floors in areas of the home that were out of the way of the work being done in the master bath, and to finish both projects in excellent time. Troy gave me the option of going to purchase the flooring myself or purchasing it for me. I do not have a truck large enough to carry that much wood, so asked him to do it. It was nice having the option, and when Troy arrived with the wood, he immediately gave me the receipt and did not impose a separate delivery charge or mark-up on the flooring. This has been consistent with the other work Ready Renovation has done for us -- always the option to obtain our own materials if we desire, or to have Ready Reno do it. Their flexibility is fantastic.

I contacted Ready Renovation to remodel our master bathroom before we had the house completely repiped so I could coordinate the two projects. I was very impressed with their ratings on Angie's List in the first place. I left a voicemail for them at their contact number and they got back to me the next day. Within a day or two, their operational manager visited our home, took careful notes about what we wanted, and emailed a bid to me within another day or two. It was the best bid we received. Within another week, Troy sent me an Excel spreadsheet indicating what work would be done on what days in the two week period it would take to completely gut our bathroom, install a new tub where there hadn't been one, lay tile, install a hot-mopped shower basin, re-arrange the electrical lighting and outlets, tile the shower, install a vanity, install two pocket doors, put in bead board wainscot and paint the walls. Troy worked very well with the plumber (and vice versa) so that the correct drains and valves were in place before the remodel started. Before the remodel started, Troy and his crew showed up (within 3 days of my first contact) to demo' the master bath for the plumber before the repipe. Troy also offered to patch and retexture the drywall throughout the house where the plumber needed to get to pipes. All three of us (the plumber, Troy and me) agreed that a general contractor would most have better experience patching walls and be able to do it more efficiently and economically. Troy and his crew were extremely punctual. Troy dealt extremely well with the local inspectors and everything went off without a hitch. Troy kept meticulous detail of the work done and produced professional change orders when he adjusted the price up when I wanted additional work, and also giving me credits when we eliminated some tasks. Troy is both honest and fair and the paper trail involved in the work was excellent. Troy began the remodel project two weeks later once the repiping was done. In the course of redoing our bathroom, I also took several bids to install new wood floors throughout the house after the bathroom remodel, and Troy gave us the best bid for that work as well. Troy seamlessly began work installing the new flooring on the first floor while continuing work on the master bathroom upstairs. We did have to adjust the completion schedule to accommodate for doing both jobs at the same time, but it was still completed sooner than if I had waited for a second contractor to come and put the floor in after the bathroom was completed. Troy was also able to install the hardwood in areas of the house where the work on the bathroom was not an issue, then complete the floor as the bathroom came closer to completion and posed less threat to the hardwood floor. I could not be more pleased working with Ready Renovation and I plan to use them again in the future for several other major remodeling projects.

They did an excellent job. They were well priced. They showed up on time, or they would call. They were very reliable. They cleaned up after themselves. They did a great job. They did a good job of controlling the cost. If you changed something they would do a change order so you knew exactly what the change in the estimate would be. They are very well managed. They were really professional.

Called Troy from Ready Renovation after seeing many positive reviews on Angie's List. He came very promptly to take a look at the job site. Troy suggested a few options what I can do with the bathroom in terms of knocking down a wall etc. Gave me a quote within a day or two. I decided to hire him. The work began promptly and didn't stop until the job was finished. Troy paid much attention to detail. He is a true perfectionist of his craft. I am 120% satisfied with everything Ready Renovation has done for us and the bathroom looks fantastic!

So I've been meaning to write this for a while, but better late than never. Troy first came out late March 2008 for an estimate. He was 15 minutes early (very nice) and was very knowledgeable about renovating bathrooms. He also didn't shy around prices like other contractors I met with. He wrote down everything that I wanted to have done, and the next day emailed me a detail itemized list of services he would be providing me, and all the materials that I would need to buy (super helpful while shopping). Our intention was to buy all materials and pay Troy for labor. Our contract that we signed was very detailed, and Troy went over the whole thing in detail to make me feel comfortable. Troy performed all the work himself with one assistant. Both were very professional, cleaned when done, and finished on time. He changed our ugly pink bathroom, to a pretty Pottery Barnish bathroom with white wainscoting, light blue paint, and gray marble vanity. Plus, Troy finished in 5 days. The house was empty when he was working on our bathroom, so he came early and left late to get the job done on time. Our next door neighbors were very impressed, and one month later got their bathroom redone by Troy. He is very attentive, always reachable, knowledgeable, reliable, and just plain great guy. For every project we do, I will hire him. I would recommend him to everyone.
