1) When there is an issue or concern with my pool, Bill is quick to text me to apprise and offer solutions. Solutions are not high-priced, automotive service station solutions where you're not sure if you truly need a whole new engine, or just a new spark plug. Many of Bill's solutions are cost effective and often less expensive that expected. There's no high pressure salesmanship to purchase additional service or equipment. Work is done on your timeline and any equipment I've purchased from Pearl Blue has been at, or usually below, market value from what I'd get at a local pool supply shop.
2) Bill shows up on the day(s) he and the customer mutually agree upon. I work shift work that allows me to be home at different times and days. It allows me an opportunity to occasionally drop in on him and converse. Bill consistently puts in no less than 20 - 30 minutes work each time just doing the basic maintenance. I've observed him checking water chemistry, cleaning equipment, pool pump, filter and related accessories. More importantly, he's knowledgable about my pool and spa and is able to answer any questions I pose with authority and experience.
3) My wife and I have remodeled our home to varying degrees throughout the years and have worked with a cornucopia of vendors and contractors. I've become an extremely good judge of character and competency based on observations, conversations, and references. It also helps that I've worked a career in law enforcement and can sniff out BS and shadiness with humble efficiency. Bill is the real deal of sound character and compassion and is someone who I trust to be on my premises and working on my pool without question. He's great with my family and is even somehow able to work around my rather temperamental large breed dog who roams the back yard!
I couldn't be more please with Pearl Blue Pool Service and recommend their service!
"According to my Quickbook records I started servicing this customers pool from Sep 2013 thru Jan 2014. As per my notes, I spoke and texted with [members name], starting from the first service date, telling him that he had extremely low suction to manually vacuum the pool. I did try on a few occasions to attempt to vacuum but nothing was happening in pulling the dirt up into the system. He believed the filter was clean and that there was clear piping to the pool. This pool had a older type pump that I believed either had a motor or impeller problem and suggested that the pump be replaced with a newer energy efficent pump and if he desired he could make payments. I also told him on numerous occasions that I was unable to vacuum the pool because of the pump problem, but I would still weekly maintain the chemicals and brush the sides and shallow end pushing the dirt/debris into the pool deepend, then use my net to get what debris that I could from the top water and deepend...stating to him that this is only a temporary solution. Being this customer was very close to my home I surely desired to service his pool beause of its location. I also mentioned many times that I would come on any day to show and discuss with him what I thought was the pump problem. I never met [members name] personally as communication was done by phone or texting. Being his pool continued to get more dirty and water chemical balancing was becoming a issue I told him it is better we part ways rather than him continue to pay for full service that I cannot complete due to the pump issues. I assure you, that it was not I would not vacuum the pool, I could not because of the pump issues."
"According to my quickbook records, my service dates for this customer was from September 2004 thru March 2006. Again, according to my records, this customer asked in July 2005 to have the pool become a check chemical only which of course does not include vacuuming or normal service..just chemicals only. If I were not checking the chemicals, the pool would look horrible in a few short weeks, surely in the hot summer months. Also, if there were problems, how is it that they kept my service for 8 months after going to chemical only? I'm also unsure why they are just posting these issues now instead of at that time almost ten years ago? I also did not service any of their neighbors on the whole street...they were the only customers. I also serviced this customer's mother's pool with no problems whatsoever. I believe the have another company in mind that they are not pleased with and not mine."
