Felix Garcia had come highly recommended by both friends and neighbors which is why I waited 2 months for him to be available and it was well worth it! His pricing wasn't the lowest or the highest but his attention to detail in the quote (which never stopped) and the time he took to explain to me what needed to be done and why really won me over right there! One of my biggest concerns and requirements was that this was my only shower, so who ever did the work had to commit to working straight through on my project to complete the job (or at least the shower) ASAP. This commitment from Felix did cause our start date to slip several time because his largest customer (Dave and Buster's) kept adding things to their projects but once he started it felt like he never left! He was even here on both Saturday and Sunday tiling the shower! When the glass door salesman was here doing his measuring, he called me into the bathroom because in his words "He has seen a lot of tiling jobs and he wanted to know who my tile guy was! Because you want tile that is flat or straight or plum or at 90 degrees and you hope for at least 2 but you never see 3 or 4 of them in a job... My shower was flat, straight, plum and at 90 degrees to the floor! No wonder it took him more than 5 days just to tile and grout the shower!! This was my first experience living in a house while there was construction going on, plus I work from home so it could have potentially been very disruptive and at times it was. But they showed up on time, kept the noise and dirt to a minimum, cleaned up after themselves and respected my space throughout the process. Two last points; Firstly I can't say enough about Felix's attention to detail, pride in his work and the craftsmanship of his work (that includes his crew Phil and Reuben). It didn't matter if he was doing rough plumbing or making sure every tile was straight and fit properly or that the grout lines were all straight and the same size, he never compromised the craftsmanship. After all it was his name on the line and he lives through referrals! Finally, as always once we got into the project things changed or were modified to fit the reality of the space and my vision of the end product. I found Felix to be very easy to work with as things changed, he always was happy to discuss what our options were, offer his opinion and ideas, then accept the changes and move on. The bang I got for my buck on this project was excellent. I have even extended the original scope to finish the project correctly based on the changes we made. The additional costs are again very reasonable and I have no complaints on the final price or the bathroom and new hall closet I am getting! Now on to Phase Two but only if Felix and his crew will take the job!! You can't go wrong with GHR or Felix Garcia!
