Excel Painting

Ken An of Excel came to our house and gave us an estimate to paint a wooden fireplace mantel would be installed as soon as it was painted. He was prompt, but his pronunciation was a bit difficult to understand. He provided an estimate that was a little high, but gave me the impression that he did quality work and paid a lot of attention to detail. There were half a dozen ding marks in the mantel that I wanted patched before it was painted, and marked them with pieces of masking tape. He said he would patch them before painting the mantel. He picked up the mantel as scheduled and took it to his workplace to spray paint it. He returned it on time, but I was upset to discover he did not patch ANY of the ding markets as he had agreed to do. HIs only responses to my complaint was "no can patch, no can patch". It took me another week to patch, sand and paint the mantel. As he had painted it using an air sprayer, it was very hard for me to match the finish (I was only able to get close to the sprayed finish). Never again will I use this guy.
