BENCHMARK CUSTOM WOODWORKS

He started the work on December 12 and he didn't finish the work until late June. He installed the base cabinets but did not install a corner cabinet as the drawings called for. There is a 3 inch gap between the corner cabinet and the cabinet next to it. There was about a 3 to 4 inch gap behind the base corner cabinet. I had to pay my plumber overtime to connect piping because the cabinet was installed differently than initially planned. There is a 3 inch gap between another cabinet as well. There are places where the cabinet doors are not as wide as the cabinet frames. The stains do not match up because he did them all at different times. There is a span of crown moulding that doesn't match the cabinets. He installed warped doors and told me that the manufacturer of the doors didn't warranty against warping even though they were warped before he installed them. He put plywood on the outside of the peninsula that was made of inferior material and it didn't match. He had to remeasure and remeasure his work and he was still unable to deliver a satisfactory product. The doors still do not match what I was supposed to get. I finally decided to tell him to stop the work and I pointed out everything he had done wrong and I deducted 10% from the total cost. He was a very pleasant man and kept saying he wanted to make it right but I don't think he had the ability to do so. I still have incorrectly installed cabinets in my kitchen now.
