The second time we agreed on a price, I did all the demo work and at 10 pm the night before he was supposed to begin, he texted and said he wasn't going to do the project. No reason given. I now have furniture moved, concrete floors, wood in boxes and no one to install the floors. When I called Home Depot, their price was actually cheaper. So much for avoiding big box stores. Super unprofessional.

Because I work from home and this was a pretty large job, we decided to do this in two phases. First phase was the bedrooms and hallways and closets. This gave us time to let everything dry thoroughly. The second phase was the living room and family room. It took approximately a week for each project.  The floors were sanded, stained and then two coats of clear coat was put on them. They took beautiful! I really like the color that he helped me pick out!  They look brand new.

When he pulled out the carpet, the flooring was really badly stained and he said that he couldn't get the stains out, so I put in laminate flooring on top of the original oak flooring.

After removing a wall to combine two rooms in our 65 year old bungalow home, we were left with two different floor surfaces. The house had oak hardwood floors throughout but the small 'old laundry room' had linoleum. Where the wall was removed, the hardwood floor stopped in a straight line. We purchased the wood from a local store and stored it in the house for two weeks to acclimate the wood per Johns recommendation.

John staggered the existing floor by cutting the old boards in a staggered line across the room. He installed the hardwood we purchased to match. He then sanded the whole floor, stained it and finished the floor with 2 coats of eurathane finish. The old hardwood floor was in very rough condition but when John was finished you couldn't tell where the old floor ended and the new floor began. It truly transformed the room.

THIS MAN DID A HORRIBLE JOB. HE DIDN'T INSTALL THE FLOOR THE WAY HE WAS SUPPOSED TO, AND I CALLED HIM TO COME FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT LOOKED AWFUL, BUT HE NEVER CAME BACK OUT. IT STILL IS A MESS, AND HE NEVER EVEN GAVE BACK MY FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS.
