Big Bob's New & Used Carpet

Everything went fine with the purchase and installation of the carpet.  It is now 3 years later and the carpet is showing serious signs of wear.  Since this was for an apartment complex I own, I did not get the most expensive carpet, but did expect it to last 5 years or so.  
The important information in this review is that Bob's New and Used Carpet is no longer in business.  They have closed and are no longer at the Blackstone Avenue address.  I was referred on the Internet to A&M Carpet on Bullard where I was told that they acquired Bob's a couple of years ago.

It went really well

James Sargent at Big Bob's was super helpful in getting us the brand and style sheet vinyl we wanted for our kitchen. They helped us set up installation with their usual installer. Everything was an A except for quality. The ONLY reason I give a B for quality is because the vinyl they put in has already been 'seamed' together. I think it was the installation team that cut it wrong but I am not sure. However, seaming this Armstrong Cushion Step brand vinyl looks very very good. We could barely even tell. It took a week for one of us to ask why it looked like a line of glue on the floor. Had to get on hands and knees to inspect it. We got to keep all remnants in case we ever need other repairs. So even though we were getting brand new vinyl and it got seamed by someone, we are very happy with the service.

Everything went smoothly from start to finish. The Staff at Bob's showed me the range in quality of carpet, gave me advise when needed, made arrangements with the sub- contractor who laid the carpet and it was done. As simple as that. They did a great job and everyone was happy.

They were referred to me by a friend of mine. The sales person at the store was very helpful. We got a good product at a reasonable price. We received great service.

We had used bob's previously for our laminate flooring so when it was time to install new living room carpet, we returned. Everything went very well. The staff was knowledgeable and made helpful suggestions as to which carpet to purchase . The carpet was installed when promised and the work done very professionally. We would use them again.

Louis at Big Bob's was very helpful, and although they don't have the largest selection, I loved what they had - especially the prices. I paid for the materials up front ($4,000) and the labor was paid after installation. They did a very good job and really listened to what I wanted. My only complaint was that I was never told I would have to pay CASH for the labor (I had planned on putting that portion on a credit card!). But they gave me a couple days to scrape up the cash, and it ended up being no big deal. The carpet and tile look great!

Very well! For a small extra fee the installers moved the furniture and replaced it afterwards which was very much appreciated. The work was started when promised and finished within 3 hours. We were very impressed!

I actually had a wonderful experience with them. They were really affordable. They measured out all the carpet ahead of time to make sure they had enough of what I wanted. The installation only took a day, and they hauled off away my old carpet. There was no additional charge for that. I would use them again in the future.

Their service is not very good but when they got to the property, we had good service. They were about 2 hours late because they got lost. They were not punctual. It just took forever for them to get there. I had a hard time having the sales man to call me back. Not good communication.

THEY HAD CALLED ME BACK TO CONFIRM OUR PREVIOUSLY MADE APPOINTMENT. THE WORKERS HAD SHOWN UP ON TIME AND HAD DONE A HIGH QUALITY JOB. I HAVE HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH THE INSTALLATION.

THEY WERE VERY RESPONSIVE TO MY VERY SPECIFIC REQUEST. THEY WERE ON TIME AND MADE SURE THAT EVERYTHING WAS DONE AS I ASKED. THEY MOVED ALL THE FURNITURE BACK TO WHERE I WANTED IT AND CLEANED UP AFTER.

I WAS VERY POLITE TO THE CARPET INSTALLERS BUT THEY WERE NOT VERY POLITE BACK. THEY JUST CAME TO DO WHAT THEY HAD TO DO AND LEAVE. THEY HAD SCRATCHED SOME NEW PAINTING WE HAD DONE, BUT IT WASN'T TOO BAD.
