ARTISTIC FURNITURE & CABINETS

Dan was great to work with. He has a small custom cabinet shop with a couple of good men that have been with him for a long time.
For about the same cost as a big box store particle board cabinets I got custom cabinets without any particle board and we used high quality self closing ball bearing drawer guides. All the cabinets were pre finished at his shop and then installed, so no painting in my house except some minor touch up after install. We are very happy with the work.

On time for initial estimate and measurements.  Took one drawer away as a sample model for rebuilding all four.  Ready on time four working days later.  Removed each drawer to the front yard and detached the front of each drawer, one at a time, and re-attached each front to new boxes.  The next day the front of the top drawer fell off revealing too-short screws which were incapable of maintaining the box-to-front attachment.  I called Dan and he came out the next morning.  His perception of the failure was an initial attempt to somehow blame the failure on the age of the front and I had to explain that the simple vibration from simple one-day use caused the front to fall off.  I pointed out that the screws barely protruded from the box into the front piece, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch maximum, thus providing hardly any "purchase" to give any permanence.  Without any other discussion he and his assistant took two drawers one at a time out to the front yard and dismantled each box from its front piece, removed the too-short screws, and screwed in longer ones to all four drawers.  They have held together well for nearly three months of customary daily use.  My wife's only complaint was that neither the workers nor I wiped away the construction dust on the inside of each drawer.  That would have been nice if they had done that finishing "touch."

Dan followed up to my initial call in a timely fashion and provided a quote and timeline quickly. He worked with me on price and did the job in an acceptable amount of time.
The project required him to match existing laminates, which he pulled off perfectly. He followed our plan drawing and the pieces looks and works beautifully.
I plan to send more work his way in the future and will definitely recommend him to others!

Very good work, very punctual, very helpful in interpreting our ideas. I felt that their prices were a bit high, but the excellent work balance it all out. They have been responsive to call backs for minor adjustments.

Dan did an outstanding job from his prompt return of our initial phone call  to the installation of the finished product.  He asked a lot of good questions and listened to our answers before he submitted his proposal.  He successfully balanced his suggestions with our needs to create the perfect addition to our kitchen.  We liked that he was very responsive to our emails and phone calls during the process.  He clearly has a talent with wood finishing as he matched our 25 year existing cabinets to the point that it's near impossible to tell new from old.   He and his assistant did not leave until everything was installed, checked, rechecked AND cleaned up after themselves.
We confidently recommend his work to others and will most definitely call him again for the next project.

EXCELLENT!  I would highly recommend Dan to anyone wanting a job done well at a reasonable cost.  Dan scheduled a consultation and did a very thorough job planning the project.  He was actually our third contractor that we had out to give us an estimate and Dan was the only one who produced a sketch on site.  Dan proposed options that neither of the other builders did, such as showing examples of doors and providing options for the shelves to be strong and a good depth.  A couple days later Dan emailed an accurate sketch of how the shelves will look upon completion.  They looked almost exactly like his sketch so we knew exactly what we were getting.  Two weeks later Dan had completed our cabinets and was ready to install, he scheduled an appointment only two days out.  Dan arrived on the date of installation on time with a crew ready to go!  The installation went smooth and we are SOOOOO happy with the cabinets!  Dan was very professional throughout the entire process and I will definitely work with him in the future.  THANKS DAN!!!!!

Dan was efficient, easy to work with and delivered a quality cabinet and changes to an existing cabinet. The new shelves looked exactly like the drawing Dan drew! The changed cabinet now looks modern and new.
In addition, the installation was a nice surprise. Dan manufactured the shelves at his studio and then installed them with a colleague's help in just a few hours.
We will use Dan again in the future for other cabinet projects in our home.

I contacted Dan Steele, the owner, by e-mail from his website and included pictures of the existing unit along with an explanation of when we were interested in doing. Dan replied by phone in a couple of days and arranged an appointment to come and look at the project. He arrived promptly and spent time explaining what he thought could be reasonable done and made a preliminary sketch of his idea. We liked it and asked for a cost estimate and timing. Within several days he e-mailed me with a more detailed sketch and a cost estimate that was within our budget. We spent the next week exchanging detailed emails tweaking the design until we agreed on the final design. Dan then firmed up the estistmate and timing. We asked that his estimate include removing and disposing of the existing cabinet. He and his associate arrived on the agreed date for installation with several major pieces thay had already pre-fabbed aand painted at their shop. The first thing they did was lay down a large tarp to protect the floor tile and carpeting. They carefully removed the old unit without damaging the paint on the alcove housing it and then built in the new unit. They spent about six hours finishing the project. Their attention to detail was amazing and refreshing to see. The finished cabinet fit like a glove in the alcove and matched the design we had agreed on. It looked like it had come with the house. They completely cleaned up after they were done.
From initial contact to finished installation was a total of 5 weeks. Throughout the process Dan was extremely responsive and professional.

Great. Had meeting before actually starting the tearing of things out. Appliances were chosen, hardware for cabinets, granite, etc. All was done, then meeting with contractor tile paint person. So once we started, everything went smoothly. Cabinets were all done and ready when it came time to install them.

Entire kitchen being gutted and Dan was part of the remodeling team. Now that everything is done he called to say he is coming back just to make sure everything is okay and if any touch ups needed or doors adjusted. Would highly recommend him for any type of cabinetry work neat,  respectful no language.
