I hired them because my toilet was blogged. They insert their Bad quality equipment which leads to breaking breaking my pipe, they did not informme of what they did insteadthey said thereis a toy we have to Jack the floor and cut the pipe to take it out. I had to hire 2 Companies to tell me the problem and end up paying $3000 for their mistakes and they

My furnace would light, and then go out within a few seconds. Acted like bad flame sensor. I replaced flame sensor myself, but that did not solve the problem, flame sensor current good, 2.7 uA. Checked pressure switches. They behaved as they should, both made contact when inducer fan came on. That was limit of my ability to diagnose. Called Art Douglas to troubleshoot further. David and Mike came out and were very polite and professional. Told me control board was fine, but one pressure switch was bad and inducer fan was not spinning up to required RPM. $3,600 for new OEM pressure switches and inducer motor and fan. $14,000 to replace furnace. Huh? Checked pressure switches myself again. Good. 2-story house with two identical furnace units in the attic. Swapped control boards. Voila! Circuit board bad. $360 part, not $3,600 repair. Called Art Douglas this past summer when my AC went out to replace compressor capacitor. Great guy, wish I remembered his name. Only one who would come out on short notice in the middle of a heat wave. That's why they were my first call for furnace issue. A company like this is only as good as the people they send to your home, and I won't be calling Art Douglas the next time I have a HVAC problem.

One year, we had to have a new motor installed. I’m not sure if that is the right term, but we had to have a major piece purchased for it. A all the way through. They don’t give you a 2 hour window, they call you before they come. You tell them when you are going to be available. You tell them in the morning, they’ll call you about 20 minutes before they come, so you can be organized when they get here.

It’s fine. We pay the $100 once and then you don’t have to think about it again.

I pay $100 and they come out 2 times a year. They are friendly. They come in and do the job and I feel very safe having them in the house.

It’s $100 for the 2 visits the one in the summer and one in the fall. He goes up and inspects the air conditioner and runs it and makes sure that everything is good to go for the summer. In the fall, he does the same thing only he checks the heater. They are very friendly, we’ve been using them for years. They know us. They are just very friendly, comfortable to have in the house.

Called on Sunday, came out with replacement on Monday. There was a problem with the heating element but was replaced quickly. Service was professional. Old water heater had to be lugged up steep basement stairs and new one brought down. I was very impressed with the promptness and quality of service.

On 8/16/16 my 82 year old mother's air conditioning stopped cooling so she called Art Douglas Inc. They came out and after quite a while decided that she needed a new circuit board which the tech went and got, replaced and charged $477.00. On 8/24/16, AC went out again. They came back and after quite a while said that the AC unit had 20 pounds of refrigerant instead of 13 and now a multitude of other issues were the problem. My mother called me (2 hours away) and when I questioned how the additional refrigerant appeared in the unit, the "manager" became belligerent and said for us to get a second opinion. They said to fix the problem it would cost my mother $3400 or $13,000 for a new unit. I called a HVAC contractor where I lived and they said the only way for 20 pounds of refrigerant was for someone to put it there and that you would have problems in a week or two. We called another HVAC person to visit the house and he was able to fix the AC by installing a new TXV valve (which Art Douglas also told my mother was no longer made). I have since called this company requesting refund for the circuit board (they never left the board and at this point we don't even know if replacement was warranted). The "manager" said absolutely no refund and that they didn't put the refrigerant in the unit and hung up on me. By the way, when I called I asked to talk with the Owner, not the manager that gave me attitude the first time. Very sad, unprofessional company and if you are a senior citizen, beware!!!!

Not well at all. Fresno City requires a permit for this work. The contractor did not secure one. Subsequently, the work was never inspected. A sewer line scoping done by All Star Plumbing on 7-13-16 revealed that due to poor soil compaction, the earth supporting this line has subsided creating what they called a "belly" , for almost 1/2 the distance of the line. The video revealed that a build up of paper material had already begun to block the line and that was from just one resident. The house is on the market and, if purchased by a family of 4 or 5 the service men agreed that the present condition of the pipe will necessitate the need for a regular clean out. I might also add that the 10% senior discount advertised on Angie's List by this company, was never applied. This is not the first time they have made this "oversight" either.

Workman showed up on time and was very nice. He cleaned out my clogged drain inside the hour special special rate and the total cost was only $75. I saved over $100 over my other quotes which had a $75 travel time fee in them plus labor charges.

I had another question about a leak on the toilet that I think it turned out from what I found out from another plumber, their information was inaccurate. They cleared the drain fine. They fixed what they were called for. I think I got what I expected to get otherwise I would have complained to Angie's List customer service. I would use them again if I needed it.

Technician Juston, from Art Douglas Plumbing, responded to a call to check out the hot water heater on my mother's house. She is 89 years old and lives alone. His solution was to replace the existing unit with a new one that was billed at $1475 for product and labor. Apparently he convinced my mother that she needed this new unit. With that, he replaced a 3 year old Whirlpool that was still under factory warranty with his "recommended" product. He failed to do any diagnostic work nor present her with an estimate to repair. The unit he used is available for about $600.00 retail. I must assume that their wholesale costs are somewhat less. Deducting the retail cost, he charged about $800.00 for essentially 2 hours of work. Art Douglas advertises a 10% senior discount that was not applied. I've sent 2 letters to owner Art Biggerstaff asking for copies of the missing documents (diagnostic and estimate). He has not responded to either. This is not the first problem I've had with this company on its business practices and ethics, but it will be the last. I've not begun the process of dealing with this firm for the $3,000.00 they charged to install a new sewer line in her front yard, one that was not needed, but once again, convinced her that it was the problem. It is painfully obvious that this company makes a practice of preying financially on the elderly.
Response from ART DOUGLAS PLUMBING
"This is a complete fabrication. [Member Name Removed] claims he is taking care of his mother yet it took him 2 months to find out she had her water heater replaced? This is not my first dealing with [Member Name Removed] but it will be my last, the man lacks any integrity or ability to tell the truth."
