After he left, though, my husband and I got on the roof and opened one side of the still broken unit ourselves. It was pretty clear to us that that side hadn't even been opened (the screws were rusted tight). We could clearly see that, although the pilot light went on, the burners would not light. So I called the company and complained that I thought he hadn't done a thorough job. The manager (Rocky) was very apologetic and said he would resend the technician at no charge to try to fix the unit. The guy came first thing the next morning (I knew that they had fit me in their already busy schedule). This time he more thoroughly checked everything in the system and identified the problem. He couldn't fix it right away, but the next day he came and replaced the part. As Rocky had promised, we weren't charged for the second service call, just for the replacement part.
