The entire process took many months, only because of our job schedule, holidays etc).
We were very worried since the new door locks would not fit our original door holes, and
since we have a stained door instead of a painted door the replacement would have to fit
pretty close to the old door lock.
Bill was very good to work with . Bill took the time to help us along and picked up the
project when we were able to do so.  We finally found a door lock system that would
enable us to make the mininal changes.

I have used them once, and they were very good. They were on time and did a very good job. They were very reasonable for the job they did; when locksmiths come home, they are not going to be cheap in any case. It wasn't inexpensive, and it wasn't an emergency or anything. I don't have a lot of experience with locksmiths, but I guess the price was good. I think all locksmiths are expensive. I would use them again in the future if necessary.

The service was excellent. They resolved the problem and fixed it on the spot. They diagnosed that the lock was okay; it was just the way it was installed. They corrected the installation and it works really well. They did a great job and I will definitely use them in the future.

Overall, the call was good. Randy, the locksmith, arrived within the time allotted and presented a business card for ID at the door. He diagnosed the issue and proceeded to carve & drill until both top and bottom lock were fitting perfectly. He was friendly and courteous. He did spend some amount of time on the phone (I think with his boss) which took away from work time. He also was away quite a few minutes when locked his own keys in the Locksmith van. It was kind of embarrassing for him and I heard a bunch of hammering so I went outside to see what was up. The fact that he was a locksmith obviously helped, he was in the truck in minutes. He also didn't clean up the worksite, which was covered with shavings from his drilling and carving. I'd recommend him technically, but a few little details would've made the experience perfect. I knew about the cost, but didn't get any Angie's List discount.

My housekeys were stolen together with a driver's license, so the thief had all the information he needed to make a productive visit! I called Allied around 12:00 noon the next day. Bill gave me an estimate for the service I needed and a window of 1 3 pm that day for the service. At 1:05 pm Norman rang my doorbell. He set to work. He double-checked what I wanted, did the rekeying, and made the keys. He cleaned up the minimal bit of debris so I didn't even need to sweep up after him. He was done around 1:20 pm. This was fast, knowledgeable, and very professional service, and I wouldn't hesitate to use this company again. This is how service providers always SHOULD work! My compliments to the staff at Allied.

I recently moved to San Jose, and was unsure how many people had keys to the house I purchased. Hence, I wanted to rekey all locks. I first tried hiring a random guy out of the Yellow Pages. That didn't go so well. So I turned to Angie's List and found that Allied Lock & Safe were pretty close by, and had an excellent rating, so I decided to give them a try. I sent an email to their email address late one day, and was promptly called early the next morning. The work was scheduled for later that day. The employee (I'm sorry to say I forgot his name, I'm so bad with names) arrived on time in a well marked van. We went over all the work to be done (rekeying locks, troubleshooting a problem lock), and he got to work. He performed all work very professionally, patiently answering all my stupid questions while he was was working. He obviously knew his locks, as he told me all about things to look for in locks. Instead of trying to upsell me new cylinders, he told me my locks were of very good quality and very secure. The price was as expected, and the whole experience was very positive.

I talked to Bill on the phone and he suggested taking some photos of the door lock hardware to see if he could match with my existing hardware. I took my camera in to their shop and showed him the photos. The two different types of locks I had were not compatible for one key to work on all three locks. I determined that I did not want to change the hardware, so went with just rekeying all door locks, even though I would still be using two different keys, one for the front door and another for the other two dead bolt locks. The technician showed up and completed the job quickly and I had 8 keys made. All in all, it was a very good job and I was somewhat surprised that it did not cost me more.

My experience with Allied was great. I called, explained the situation, and was given an estimate over the phone. I was told that they could have someone to our house within a few hours and that I would receive a phone call first. Less than an hour later, I received a phone call from the serviceman, Don. He was at our house about 15 minutes later. Don was very friendly and extremely professional. I appreciated that he was wearing a uniform - some workers tend to just show up in street clothes, and it makes me uncomfortable opening the door to them. Don assessed the situation and got right to work. He did an excellent job and made some recommendations about keeping parts for future use. The cost was exactly what had been estimated. Conveniently, they accept credit cards. We will definitely use Allied again.

These locksmiths have done a very good job for me. They are professional and they came out quickly, within 2 hours of when I called them, which was important so that we could make sure our house was secure again. The did a high quality job and the serviceman was clean cut as well.

After realizing I had lost the keys to my motorcycle and padlock that was on the bike, and recovering from finding out the cost to have someone come out for 10 minutes of work, I now have a key to the bike and have learned to have extra keys made before having to use their services again.

Excellent. The technician re-keyed all the locks and lubed them as well so now they all work even better than before. I had them quote on an electric deadbolt and they came in about $20 over MSRP just for the part. Install and rekey on that would be extra. I believe I'll just order it over the internet and DIY install.

The technician did a great job creating the same key for main locks and having a different key for one lock (so we can let service people into the house). Good job - fast and quick.

Called Brian from Allied Lock around 10am on Friday morning. Said that I wanted to swap out the existing locks with new ones that I had purchased at the hardware store and have them rekeyed. Brian said that they could come out the same day and do the service. I scheduled them to come at 4:30pm on Friday afternoon. I was a few minutes late, but called Brian to let him know my schedule. Bill from Allied Lock arrived at exactly the same time I did, and immediately started working. He swapped out two entry level door locks, two deadbolts, and one garage entry door lock. I couldn't have asked for better service! Bill ensured that I was completely happy with the service before he left and gave me advice along the way. Since I knew the previous owner of the company, Brian also gave me a discount.

Done in about 45 minutes and even helped me put the patio screen door back on its tracks when it fell off as I opened it. Professional, prompt. Gave me a 2 hour window of time for service. I received a call from the main office 15 minutes before the locksmith was due to alert me to his arrival time.

Very good. On time, quick, friendly, and knew his job well. Checked to see first if it was possible to do. I guess some sliding glass doors can't be keyed, and found it was, so put one in. Worker was here about 30-45 minutes after I called to see about getting it done. Was nice to have it done in the same day.
