Abel's Auto Repair

Dismantled engine to the heads, then said he was afraid to break a head bolt. Told us that he would have to get head bolts for ones that broke. And he would have to get a Tap Out kit for the head bolts. That was fine. But told us he could not find them at Auto store. We found them online for $15. Kept saying would have car ready tomorrow. Also kept saying he was afraid to break a head bolt. When you remove the heads, you replace the gaskets and bolts. That is standard practice.  Had to threaten him with law suit if car was not put back together. We finally got a loaner car on the 9th day. He had car ready on 10th day. He wanted $574.00 for putting car back together and replacing a few gaskets. He originally had said he would do the job for $600. He finally said he would return the car for $200 to cover cost of gaskets. He had bought a whole engine rebuild kit. That has some 20 gaskets in it. I test drove the truck first, it ran the same as before. He had left the gasket kit in the truck. I took it out and put it on the back of the car in our driveway. Wrote him a check, gave him his car key, and he left. 5-10 minutes later I remembered the gaskets were still outside. Abel had taken them. So we did a stop payment on our check. Reported him to the Fresno Police.
