A wall unit full of electrical equipment in our main room suddenly stopped working - a day before house guests were due to arrive. After dismantling all equipment, and emptying clothing and cabinet contents all over the room, we pulled it out from the wall and discovered a dead outlet. At 4:24 pm we called Cross Electrical. Kathy answered, heard my frustration and panic, and offered to see how close Doug might be to our house on his way home. 10 minutes later, he arrived. Professional, friendly, sweet, CALMING. He had the problem diagnosed within 5 minutes, and fixed a culprit switch so it wouldn't happen again. It will be hours before the room is restored to normal and the equipment re-connected (Oh Lord). But we will be able to have it done now, before anyone arrives. Thanks to Kathy and Doug. I will be forever grateful - we have an electrician for life now! I can see why they have such stellar reviews - they certainly deserve it.
Doug's office ( I think it was his wife) answered the phone immediately as I started to leave a message. We talked about a rough estimate for the project and set up and appointment. Doug came out and provided an estimate. I called his office to make an appointment.
On the day of the appointment, Doug who was scheduled to do the work, had to deal with an urgent electrical problem at a local school and called me to say he would be delayed and explained why. His office also called me and provided updates and expected new time for arrival which I really appreciated.
Doug called and explained that the problem he was dealing with was taking more time than expected so asked if he could send another of his crew out to my home to do my project. The crew that arrived was professional, worked quickly and efficiently and completed the project as needed. I even received a discount.
They were extremely prompt, friendly, professional, and very easy to work with. They are straightforward and honest to boot!
They cleaned up their work nicely and finished the entire job in about 3 hours.
Had we known what to look for and do, we could have saved ourselves the money. However, I consider this money well-spent and a learning experience on late 60's era breaker boxes.

They also moved light switch power from one wall to another - for an accent light that was they also installed.
The Cross brothers and Ms. Cathy (Doug's wife) went above and beyond from estimate to completion. The price is reasonable and the work is outstanding! I could not have asked for a better electrician!!!
