The owner, Chris, was very helpful from the first phone call to the last handshake. He was easy to work with and explained everything he was going to do. He has been in the business a long time and really knows his stuff. I was able to provide him info and a photo of the part and he knew exactly what was needed. He was able to work around my schedule and replaced the part in about an hour.

Chris is fantastic. He is professional, detailed, courteous, friendly, and an expert in his trade. We got exactly what we wanted! That's because Chris listened to us, took detailed measurements, identified obstructions, explained choices, addressed our insulation questions, and reviewed framing and finish so we would get the look we wanted. His quote was thorough and detailed and exactly what we expected. I opted for an opener that has an app for my phone for remote operation and notifications. He was fully up to date on this - even gave me a demo. Chris clearly takes pride in his work, taking the time to get it right, and making sure we were happy with the result. Can't say enough good.

Called Chris at about 10 am explaining the problem with my door that is was very hard to open. I thought I'd have to schedule for sometime the following week, but Chris was able to come out same day. After looking at the garage door it was determined that the original installer (not Chris) had installed to small of a spring. Chris installed two heavy duty springs and the door opened like it was brand new. Will be calling Chris when I'm ready for a new door / upgrade. I highly recommend Huntington Valley Garage Doors.

Chris was great! He was professional and very knowledgeable in his trade. He came out for a tune up and roller replacement. The garage had been making noises for the last couple years. Chris quickly evaluated the door and pointed out that it was unbalanced and door opener was working too hard. Chris was able to replace the springs, balance the door, realign the rails, replace the rollers, fine tune the door opener and provided an original remote with one he had in his truck to replace a lost one. Truly a pleasurable experience. Chris is my number one garage door guy! Thanks again for the awesome experience!

Chris was friendly, professional, and very informative. I'm glad I went with his business to repair my garage door. Last night one of the cables on our garage door unspooled and the door became unbalanced and then lodged into the rails. I gave him a call at 8am this morning and he was able to make the drive up to Lakewood to check it out by 11:45am. He assured me the door itself was still in good shape, he just needed to get the door dislodged, replace some hinges and cables, straighten the existing railing, and recommended I replace the springs as they were looking a little worn out. I didn't feel pressured into the spring replacement in any way, but as neither of us knew how old they really were, I decided to go for it since he was already here. He gave me a price that I felt was very reasonable and he immediately went to work. It took him less than an hour and a half to get everything done, and he even replaced some bearing plates at the top of the door that weren't installed properly. The garage door is now straightened out in its rails and opens and closes very smoothly. Chris let me know exactly what he had to do and still stuck to his estimate even with the added bearing plates. I'm very pleased with the service I received from Chris and Huntington Valley Garage Doors and I will gladly call them in the future for tune-ups and more.

Chris was great to work with. His initial phone call with me was very helpful and I was able to get a good idea of my problem. He gave me varies solutions to think about and I appreciated his vast knowledge regarding garage door operators. Although I did not need his immediate assistance with my problem, he was available if an emergency to help me. Awesome!
His prices are fair and his service was excellent. Chris being the owner and operator of the business takes great pride in his work. Will definitely use him in the future and would highly recommend him.

This was a fairly extensive job given the staining and custom details are all done on location. Day 1 included the removal and haul away of the old doors, and installation of the new doors (in a raw wood state). They completed this phase in 1 day in order for the garages to remain secure overnight. After the installation, a subcontractor then spent 3 to 4 days staining and painting the outside, inside of the garage doors and also redoing my RV and side gates. Once painted and stained, Chris returned to finish the iron details and to properly grease and adjust the door tracks. Keypads were installed to open the doors from the outside and the job was done. Be prepared to get the cars out every day they work and remember that when there is rain, exterior work pretty much comes to a halt. My job was further complicated because it required HOA approval. Chris was very patient providing designs, quotes and details then waiting for me to secure HOA approval (over 30 days) before proceeding with the order and the install. All in all, it was more expensive than I originally budgeted for but the custom look of the result was worth the time, hassles and money. Thank you HV Garage Doors for an excellent job!

Excellent job! Repaired our garage door opener. Chris gave us options to replace the unit and springs but recommended just the repair for now which I really appreciated. The price was very good. I will definitely call him for all future garage door needs.

I agreed to repair because of security concerns. Visit $85. Ok. Parts s $150l. No way. Labor to install $200. Seemed high. I agreed to repair for security reasons. He offered a 5% discount which I declined. Very competent to handle the large door by himself.

"Mr. [Member Name Removed], Thank you for the business and I am sorry you feel disappointed on what you say was a simple repair. In defense of the situation i would like to better explain the repair for my present and future customers. The door hinge was broken on a 400 + pound wood tilt up style double garage door and the door was almost on the ground on the left side and wedged in the opening. This service required changing of the heavy duty hinges which are designed to fit on the left and right side. Not a simple job and I am sure all Garage Door service technicians would agree. The side that had not broken was indeed going to break just like the other one and because of the service it required both to be changed. This is not a easy service to perform unless you are physically callable of doing it with out blowing your back out. Springs are easy but not the hinges that mount the door to the jambs. As you said we agreed on a price but it was not until I was completed that you wanted a discount and you told me you thought the pricing was high because you can purchase a door and opener for $400. You mentioned your neighbor told you about this probably from a ad on TV from false advertising by other Garage Door companies. In my opinion this is what made you feel that way and I told you that price was not a reflection of your job specifically. Once completed, You informed me that I would not be getting a good grade from you on Price and in response I did offer you the Angie's List 5% discount in cash to help with your decision. You declined even that. As a honest person and business which I firmly believe you will find true amoung all of my Angie's List customers as well as 0 complaints in 15+ years with BBB, I believe there is always two sides to every story and feel this needed to be addressed further. In addition, the day of this service I had other clients scheduled and because of the immediate need expressed by you I re arranged the schedule to accommodate your Emergency. I know this does not mean much but I feel I try to help as much as I possibly can and I think my track record proves that. I believe the repair I performed has held up and without replacing your whole door system which honestly I believe would cost over $1000 dollars, not $400 saved you time and money and secured your tenants processions as quickly and efficiently as possible."

I am very happy with the work done by Cris of Huntington Valley Garage Doors. My old garage door stopped working all of a sudden, with the motor grinding and unable to lift the door. Cris provided a new motor, springs, cables, remotes and other new accessories just a few hours after I called him. This was much appreciated, because we live in a condo and the association wants doors closed at all times.

I would most highly recommend Chris and Huntington Valley Garage Doors for any and all garage door needs. He is professional, responsive, friendly, and does excellent work.
We weren't sure what types of door we wanted, and Chris was incredibly helpful and patient. He did mock-ups of what our house would look like with the different doors and colors we were considering, and he also gave us many different options to consider from the low to high end our our price range. He advised us, but he was never pushy and he was always happy if it looked like we were leaning towards the lower end of our price range.
In the end we went with the more expensive custom doors, but Chris gave us an amazing deal on these doors and we are extremely happy with the doors and the work that he did. He was always willing to work with our schedules, and to meet any requests that we had. I can be a "high maintenance" type of customer when it comes to a project this big, but Chris is an extremely accommodating and customer service oriented business man, and I'm sure that anyone who hires him will be very happy with the work that he does.

Chris is great! We have been fighting with the garage door since we bought the house 4 years ago, having to have it repaired on a regular basis about once a year. It always broke on the weekends too. We had some extra money so decided to finally replace it and talked with several Angie's List ranked providers, finally picking Huntington Valley Garage Doors. Their price was very competitive with the other bids we got and Chris, who owns the company, did the sales call and the installation. It's not a huge firm and I liked that, but the selection of doors was large. I had an idea of what we wanted to install, and we didn't have to endure some sort of hard sell to upgrade. After picking HVGD, we were able to get the door installed within a week. Chris was running a little late because of traffic but he called and let me know that, which I really appreciated. The installation went very smoothly and cleanly, and while he pretty much took over the garage during the install he'd warned me about that so it wasn't an issue. We love our new garage door! It's very quiet and operates smoothly, plus the new panel of lights on top really brightens up our garage.

Excellent! Chris is a true professional. He replaced the initial items that were broken, then proceeded to give my garage door system a complete tune up. He performed a safety check on the hardware and infrastructure of the system. I was completely happy with his work.
