A pipe broke in the ceiling of our house over some electrical stuff on a Thursday afternoon. The insurance called Bartwood. At first they seemed to be on top of things, but could not get a crew out until late Thursday night...and we had no electricity. So they said they would come Friday morning. Later they called and said there was another job, so they would be out Friday at noon. On Friday at 12:30 they called to say the crew was at another job and would be between 2 and 4. Finally around 24 hours after the emergency call to the insurance...Bartwood was on scene.
I heard the tech on his cell with someone saying he was not going to put any blowers in my house because he had to take them to his next job and that we would need to wait until the other guy came out on Saturday. Then they measured a few things, Blue taped some things for removal took copious notes for 30 minutes and he told me he could not put blowers because there might be asbestos. At this point we still had no power, but the electrician that Bartwood arranged for was due out at 5. Well....I questioned of course why they had not tested for asbestos if they were concerned, and my house already smelled horrible after 24 hours of sitting in water. He said he could not help because he had to go to another job.
My objections at least got an environmental company there at 6 on Friday (the first one wanted to come at 10pm...to a house with no power...to test for asbestos...hmmm...) The asbestos company said we would have results Saturday morning. The electrician was able to give us some partial power in the house Friday evening...but none in the damaged areas.
Saturday morning...no Bartwood, no results...a crew arrived a little after 11, ...again with some blue tape and extensive note taking. They were measuring rooms and areas no where near the water damage, claiming that our insurance asked them to...I call b*******. No insurance company wants the emergency company who still has done no real work 44 hours after the pipe broke to measure the master bedroom upstairs!!! They also claimed that they had to leave to go to another job and It was only after my husband yelled at them that they agreed to leave two fans under the carpet in the family room.
Who knows what was growing in the walls by now...drywall was peeling off and dropping to the floor, chunks of the ceiling came down...it was a mess. I made dozens of phone calls on Saturday and no one responded...no one on Sunday either. So that ad that says they respond to emergencies 24/7 - its a lie.
Bartwood was fired on Monday morning.
