I signed a contract that I should not have signed. He came in and gave a low bid, and then jacked the price way up due to termites. They got a building permit, told me it was about $400, and I later found it was only about $280. They tore off part of my roof, and then said that we needed to switch to a different type of underlayment board, and jacked the price up to $17,000. I've given him about $6,000 so far, and I'm on the verge of cancelling the project outright due to the high cost and their dishonesty. Other estimates I've gotten have been between $11,000 and $14,000 total.
