The move took more than twice as long as initially quoted, mainly due to the slow pace of work. Additionally, the truck provided was too small to accommodate all of my belongings in one trip, resulting in extended labor time, which was beyond my control. Moreover, I felt very uncomfortable being asked to pay a substantial amount directly to the movers while they stood in my kitchen at 8:00 PM on a Saturday. This request was made outside of regular office hours, leaving me unable to speak with an administrator about the matter. The entire situation felt coercive, and I would have expected a more professional resolution. In light of these issues, I requested a partial refund to cover the unexpected overtime charges, which were outside of my control. Unfortunately, my request was denied. Summary: The estimate process was unprofessional. The movers were noticeably slow. The movers insisted on receiving payment in my kitchen before leaving, which felt very aggressive and unprofessional.

"Sadly, the details in this review are untrue. The client provided a list of the items we were to move. We trusted her list because she called us in a panic when the mover she was going to hire was unreachable, 3 days before her move was to occur. I personally went out of my way to drop off boxes as a courtesy because we are actually SUPER NICE people (at no charge AND didn't charge for the boxes) before the move, & scheduled the team with only 3 days notice. Regarding the size of the truck: her items that she SIGNED for on the estimate totaled 613 cu. ft. & the truck we brought can accommodate 1,000 cu. ft. The team was asked to add MULTIPLE additional pieces of furniture (which we are happy to do when asked, of course) but not until the truck had been packed as planned with the items we knew were going with us. Note that when a move is planned, the truck is packed a certain way, and had the team known the other items were coming, we would have packed to the ceiling to accommodate for the space needed for the additional items. Because we didn't know about the additional items up front, an additional return trip had to be made to accommodate, adding more time to the day overall. Regarding the movers being in the kitchen at 8:00 and not being able to speak to an administrator: I am THE OWNER and was the one sending the invoice at that time. I'm not sure how much more of an administrator you can get than that..... I was ON THE PHONE with the driver/supervisor who is kind, professional, and has multiple positive reviews that mention his kindness by name and has NEVER made anyone else feel uncomfortable. We collect payment at the end of EVERY job. Just like EVERY service professional. You are not on credit. You pay for your job at the end. That's how it works and that's what you sign for when you sign the agreement. NOTE- We have NEVER had anything other than a 5-star review on Yelp OR Google. When she stated that she was unsatisfied with the charges, Ms. [Consumer Name Removed] denied my attempt to remind her of the estimate she signed that clearly states the following: This estimate is based on the information you provide, and on the assumption that your house or business is packed and ready to move upon arrival, unless packing services are noted above. Estimates are given to inform you of approximate costs and allow us to schedule movers appropriately. Actual charges reflect the time spent on your move, plus boxes, packing supplies, travel time, fuel, and any other extra charges as noted on your estimate. Unfortunately, Ms. [Consumer Name Removed] did not agree that she was responsible for paying for the time that was spent to move her additional items up the 3 flights of stairs to her new apartment. She was, however, NOT disappointed in the slow pace at the time of the move because she did tip the movers $100 EACH. She just said she was disappointed when she tried to fight the bill at the end."

Moving is rough as it is...and finding a mover you can TRUST is even tougher. Look no further than Betsys Moving! Amanda was absolutely great to work with as was her team. She immediately put me at ease and I knew we were in good hands. Definitely recommend 10/10!

I’ve know Amanda since childhood and I knew she’d be the best person to help move my mom. My mom is a “collector” so needless to say there was a lot of downsizing that was needed prior to the move. I was so happy to have their expertise and man power 💪🏼

Amanda did all the planning, we just had to point and her team loaded everything, unloaded and donated what we didnâ t need anymore, to a local nonprofit. The whole team were very professional and patient with us and it made the experience so much easier. We would recommend Betsyâ s Moving to anyone moving local or long distance!

The first time we hired Betsy's Moving, it was to move my mom (with memory issues) into an assisted living facility. They were prompt, professional, fast and efficient! The prices were very reasonable and they were all really just genuinely nice people. The second time we hired them was very unexpected and just 6 weeks later, to move her yet again. They didn't hesitate to say "whatever you need!" and fit us in to a very small window of time that worked for OUR schedules. Here's the way they went above and beyond even moreso: my husband drove ahead of them to the new location (60 miles away) in his car and got a flat tire. They took an unnecessary lunch break at no charge (!) to give him time to put on his spare since he had keys to the new place. When the old spare shredded 20 miles later? Amanda saw him on the side of the road and picked him up in her own car and they finished the job together. Amanda and her crew helped arrange my mom's new studio; we were at a loss what to do with the space since we had down-sized from a 1 BR apartment. It looked great! I could never have pulled that off. Thank you all, the whole crew! I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone, anytime, anywhere. Lovely people that obviously take great pride in what they do.
